Glad you got your car back.

Amazed some people would think about even trying a fast one to get a car that's not their own but suppose that is the way of the world now.

Edinburgh evening news site had it on facebook and appalled at some of the comments. Too many low life's taking glee that owners who can afford these car are concerned about their vehicle. Not even thinking twice about their comment have on the staff who have also been affected. Society is hitting new lows.

Sorry for the rant but but it got me riled this morning and have full sympathy to anyone who has been affected.

Not sure it was for people coming in to take something that wasn't theirs.

When I was told that my car would not be released my first thought was that I'm going down there anyway and I'll just take it.

I assume there will be other people in the same boat, cars in for service, warranty work, prep, and a handful of people who have placed deposits on cars to pick them up later.

In fairness for me it was an inconvenience and worrying, I assume I got fairly lucky as I didn't owe them any money for the work done.

We got away lucky as well, as nearly put a deposit down on an Aston on Saturday.

Lucky for us that the trade in for the spyder was abysmal and we did not proceed further.

Deposit would have been on a credit card so we would have been covered.

I have a set of alloys and tyres stored there and phoned a few times but it just rang out. Then an hour or so later I got a call back from someone to see if I needed assistance. Given the circumstances I was impressed with how helpful they were, particularly for what is in the scheme of things a fairly insignificant issue. I have now e- mailed the administrators to ask how to proceed so hopefully they will get back to me soon.

This is a real shame. Horrible position for all the staff. I hope a solution is found soon … or that they can all find something else quickly.

I need my 1,000mile service soon … I guess I'll be going to Carlisle.

News feeds mentioned the administrators hope to sell the sites and keep staff in place. Fingers crossed this all works out well in the end.

Got my 311 back from them last week, and a huge thanks to Monty for the heads-up.

However massive credit to the Leven staff for making it happen.

JK, Laura and Lauren all helped get things sorted, and then Ian (the chap that runs KIA) helped me to get it out, along with 6 mechanics who helped push it on to my trailer.

Hugely sad news for all that work there, and had to bite my tongue a few times with some of the nonsense people were spouting on social media.

Not. sure where things go from here, but a big loss, and the Leven Tracknights had been fantastic through 2019.

Some of the staff, X-JM group, have been there for 25 years. Devasted for them.

Did wonder about your 3-11 Andy. Saw it when I was there on 31st when I was in. Gutted for all of the staff. It must have been a total shock for them, let’s hope there is a buyer and the staff all get their jobs back.

A bit of an update:

"Administrators have closed two dealerships in the Borders following the collapse of a car sales company.

Leonard Curtis Business Rescue and Recovery said there had been "limited interest" in the Leven Cars Group's Kia and Suzuki site in Selkirk.

It said all 23 staff at the Borders branches had been made redundant on Tuesday.

Discussions with interested parties are continuing over the group's remaining sites in Edinburgh."

In light of the rapidly increasing profile of climate issues, I now think new car sales are going to tank until EV gains critical mass.

So this may be the first of many collapses, sadly.

I am not sure about that, I think the general public are very attached to nice vehicles even at additional expense up to a point. I think the issue is really about our current economic situation resulting in delayed purchasing decisions. Its about confidence to spend, although have no evidence to back that up
