When i first looked at an Elise (late 1997) it was £27K which was about the same as a Boxster (again without options) and the first TT - they were both about £29k
My S1 with lots of options including hardtop was £25k ordered from the dealer in 1999.
It was a stack of money to me back then but on reflection, it actually was an “affordable” sports car. (This was the only reason I could do it). And it was streets ahead of Boxsters or TTs of its era. In certain respects at least

Hoping history can repeat. On the streets ahead bit at least. Price is technically irrelevant as I’m not in the market right now

This is the new world, get used to it.
Another car company owned by the same chinese corporation has run an advert that has your new car as
"Like your smartphone but bigger."

It’s fine Tony, I just choose not to share the complete footprint of my life with such an organisation.
I’ll cope.

Being that its Geely owned we should be thankful its not been launched on RenRen or some other Chinese social media platform. Really interesting article on the BBC about the relationship between Chinese private enterprise and the governing Communist Party over the weekend.

The car itself is still nice and compact, looks like a modernised Evora with Evija styling cues which isn't a surprise.
Didn't watch with enough interest to catch what its weight is, or what engines are available
