Just double the voltage going to it, bosh. I should not really be having to teach you this Robin.

Has anyone given consideration to the Eletre ?
I had a prod around one the other day and got some PCP figures with their 0%apr.
Quality is superb and it’s quite striking in the flesh. I’m just torn on if my next step should be electric but something like this has seriously got me thinking about it.

Re: Leccy cars
Nope. Would involve a new mortgage or lottery win. Not special enough I’m afraid. And BEV doesn’t fit our use cases in any way.
Funky things though - saw round one at launch. Good luck!

I really struggle with its styling, and same with the Emeya.
Haven't seen them in the flesh but they're clearly not for the UK market. Styling and size for the wealthy Chinese

Re: Leccy cars
Shows how far my interest in electric cars is behind the curve but I'd not heard of either of them and had to revert to Google!!
Not for me I'm afraid.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Wanted: Train.
Re: Leccy cars
Definitely of the same opinion Jim - an EV would have so little use in our needs for cars, I cannot see me buying one until there really is no option.

Re: Leccy cars
We are a two tesla family these days (plus an Elise which hasn't turned a wheel in more than a year
).
We live in Edinburgh and drive to Cornwall & Tiree at least once a year as well as the more normal up-down the A1/M1/M6 type journeys. Never had a problem charging the car/worried about not being able to charge it. Use a 3-pin most of the time, usually Tesla chargers on road trips, but in the corners of the country where superchargers aren't there, we've used BP, Podpoint, Chargeplace Scotland (now in new private ownership) and ProjectEV chargers with various degrees of convenience, but never impossible to sort out.
Of course if you have to make the fastest possible journey from A to B and it's more than 100 miles or so, ICE is going to win, but once you factor in your bladder range (approx 100 miles for many of us older types) it turns out the energy store for your car is not the limiting factor on travel time

Re: Leccy cars
Of course there is a price difference - but there's nothing fundamentally different about an EV that means you couldn't use it for carrying stinky dogs (we used ours for that before we had to put the woofster to sleep). If it's just about the money, there are always going to be cheaper ICE options at any level in the market if you compare like-for-like. But who chooses to drive the cheapest possible car that meets their needs - hopefully nobody on this forum .... that'll be over on the Volvo forum, e.g. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthre ... 238&page=3

P.S. If your signature is accurate a 2004 Bentley Continental GT is not likely to meet anyone's definition of cost effective motoring, no matter how little you paid for it

But it's lovely for wafting and when asked lifts her skirts and goes very nicely, and paid less that you could imagine

I refer to your earlier theory about choosing the cheapest possible car to meet a certain need
