Nice summary Robin.
Had too much on to sort WAC (WhatsApp Community) trial but will still try soon.
Thanks for stoking the dying embers and good luck setting up the WAC.
It’s a pity that this place doesn’t get used much these days and I am glad that I managed to join up and meet new friends along the way back in 2010. If I was new to Lotus now though, I doubt that I would join up, as when looking from the outside, there is nothing really getting organised for newbies to come along to. I used to like reading the Technical Section when anyone was asking for some assistance and the response was great in getting the problem solved and I was always amazed of the technical knowledge available on the SE Forum. I particularly remember one occasion when my Elise wouldn’t start while away for the weekend up in Ullapool. I called the AA and Kathy suggested to put up a post on here and within minutes, there were suggestions on what to check and do. The AA soon arrived but in the meantime Robin had already came up with the correct solution to the problem and we were soon on our way. The various camping trips years ago were always great and I miss the beach fires, watching the sunset and the usual banter into the early hours, but not Ian D deciding to go for a swim just before bedtime.

I used to laugh when seeing the rest of our group first thing in the morning and hear how there was people still drinking and waiting until sunrise before turning themselves in for the night. Also, Ian Boag telling the story of how he couldn’t get into his tent because he thought that aliens had landed and had made a forcefield around his tent had me in stitches and still makes me laugh. Ian had only opened the outer fly sheet and had tried to gain entry, but he kept bouncing off of the ‘forcefield’. It tuned out that he had forgotten about the inner tent and had been bouncing off the insect net.
At least the trackday chat is very active on WA, but with Lotus themselves taking a different direction in recent years regarding the type of cars that they are producing, I haven’t seen anyone buy one of their cars and join up. It is really a shame that other people are missing out on this great community of friends and I have really enjoyed everything with you all over the years. Let’s see how the WAC progresses and maybe James Ford can be the first new member on there and possibly help bring in the next generation.
As they say, ‘Use it, or lose it’.
Steve.
Ps Anyone up for a run?
