Can I have a free course....
Looking at my pics from KH, they're awful.
Gotta get myself a 300mm lense and tripod ;)

Also worth checking out the Pistonheads photography forum http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?f=109&h=0 .
Maybe it's time for our own photography section as we now have at least 3 photographers posting regularly (Andy Snap, Poah & david Bryce) :?:

Lens and tripod won't make any difference if you can't figure out the camera :thumbsup

It's a bit like the power vs driver training argument ;)

It would be nice to have photography section, however it would just be good to get one of the guys on the forum (photographer pro!) and have a half day with them, learning the essentials/basics!

I for one would be up for chipping in a bit of money for their time!?

I'd be up for spending some time with one of the photographers on the forum to learn how to do it properly too... but I think it's a dodgy road to go down to start offering cash...

imho.. the whole SE mentality has always been to help each other out without getting into a money thing..... and I think that's worked pretty well in the few years I've been on the Yahoo group and now this forum too... although I'm sure I'm still well in debt to the likes of Mac, Lawrence, Robin etc. etc.

now I'm not the most mechanically minded (as Mac will testify!) but I'd be happy to wash/wax a car or help out with some AV kit to another SE'r who was helping me with photography for example... There may be some other service they require which I/we could help with too...

I just think it would be a shame to end up with a forum where people have to start paying for things like each others time or high res photos of our own cars..etc.

Just my 2p, feel free to ignore :D

Dave.

I'm 100% with DDtB on this one. It's one of the main ethos of Scottish Elises.

It's fair enough when folk are offering services as a business (Dan, Neil etc) but if it's just knowledge that's been shared then I think it best if it's done on a "mutual benefit" basis, even if the path is indirect.

Not having read all the thread, how about this :

Combined run & Photography Lesson / Competition

May have to be Spring, but something like :

Meet / Drive to fave location for driving & photos (e.g. Glencoe/Cairngorms / Skye...)
Gas about our phenonmenal driving skills / start photo lessons / head for individual shots
Get back - Photo competition judged by pros
Drink beer and laugh at said photos

Could be a team competition ?!

/i'll get my coat

Sound like a sh*tty idea ?
