Been on to the phone to the insurers most of the afternoon. From allocating Cessford Motors as the repairer (they have never worked on a Lotus). I managed to persuade them that I wanted to use Dan

. This they agree...Happy man

. Now they have just phoned up and told me the car will be shipped to the nearest Lotus approved repairers, JM Accident Repair in Perth.
The last thing I need is to be put on the MMC treadmill especially between the borders and Perth.
So can anyone put my fears to rest about said MMC group body shop, or help me in finding away of getting the insurers into reversing their decision

Don't agree with you on that one

About Wallyford. Not : going to bring back up that can of worms

.I will leave it at that and that's my opinion.

It was a few yers ago now but Wallyford, and their complaints systems following corroborated issues were atrocious.

Oh, no! JMRC in Perth!
They are awful! My car has a dual tone silver paintjob after many visits to them (and no, I didn't ask them to make it like that)
At least they repaired the bubbling paint on the second repair!
If I was you I would prefer to send the car to Hethel, or anyway far but good, that way at least you'll be sure the car will be ok when you pick it up (and not go back and back and round, etc)

Can't comment on repairers, but try and remember that you are the paying customer in all this. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!
I am sure you have already paid through the nose for your insurance and no doubt it's about to get worse.
Start SHOUTING at the insurer or better still get Mags onto them

Yes, but then after having them redo the car three times it only ends up costing me more time off the road, all for a stupid paint job, which is going to be scratched or sand blasted anyway.
At a certain point they would just not accept the car back so I had to either get them to court or just drive the thing.
I'm sure I could have won, but instead of a car I would have a litigation case and no car. Not worth it.
It total the car stayed about 6 months off the road trying to get the paint right.
I don't care about the paint anymore, next time I get a scratch, I'm using a can or Halfords paint, and if too bad, changing the colour to matt black!

Spoken to Admiral again today, looks like they are now going to send the assesor to Ace recovery, and if its repairable then to Dan's.
Uldis, if only it was a case of a can of Halfuds paint

No, I know, read about your accident, sorry about that.
As I said I would rather send it to be repaired far away but to a good place.

Avoid Nationwide too! Mine's having to go back in for another front end respray - they made an arse of it the first time - runs inthe paint and they obviously didn't bother sanding down the fibreglass repair properly!
Good luck!

Bit O/T - had a BMW rear bumper knock referred to Wallyford a few yrs back. They were useless even for an 'ordinary' car. Tried to give it back to me with a dent still in the bumper, and it not on straight
I'd avoid like the plague for any vehicle.
