Okay,
Off out on a works dinner with the wedding shop staff I'm based out of on Sunday. Opinions on dress (it's a smart do) Crowd profile - 20-35 yo female (one other bloke)....
a) Hire a trendy kilt outfit (charcoal or summit, not ordinary prince charlie tartan)
b) Get myself a new suit (which I need anyway)
Ponder... and discuss!

Or the cheap option. Dark dress trousers, cool fitted shirt nothing bright or lairy(show off that slimline physique

), dress shoes (make sure they match the colour of your belt)

I rocked this 1985 Patrick badboy to a party last weekend.
Two girls stopped me in the street in Edinburgh when I was getting out of the car and said "you have a cool car but
what the fook are you wearing - can we get a photo"
Do it, I will even let you borrow it!

go for the good suit.
IMHO the kilt favours the more generously filled gent.
A good suit can be worn either smart or casual depending on the choice of shirt.
I used to go suit hunting wearing a shirt with a t-shirt underneath. If it suited both then I had a winner.
Cheers

A charcoal suit. A good un as it can be worn anywhere.
As it's plain you can dress it up or down with different colour of shirts/tie.

Is it worse than my Millenium haircut when I had the tips of my hair dyed bright red?

I'm going with you guys at the mo. I have a sneaking suspicion that the kilt makes me look even more rediculously skinny, so methinks suit it is.
Handy thing is that I have a tailor working in the same shop as me, so can get something which is pretty much there and then modify to fit perfectly. I always think the cut of the suit really makes it stand out - and it's an arse finding off the peg that fits me!
