You take credit cards?

Seriously, that's the only way I'm going to be able to get enough money in one place at one time. Thinking seriously about a self-build 1.9 monsta - got a couple of mates who can assist with specialist knowledge & garage space/engine hoist/etc....

Other option is just to put new rings on the engine as is, but I'd probably discover ovalised liners and shot pistons - taking me so near the cost for the Scholar block that it'll make no difference...

:(

Keep it standard boys...

i thought about a 1.9k, but the crappy gearbox lets the k down, so i'm, more inclinded towards mugen power. also, theres the SuperCharge option.

...you do the math :(

According to DVA, sounds like the ring lands have collapsed - maybe when it was getting to higher revs there wasn't so much blowby, but Ali was saying when it was struggling at ~4k in 4th on the back straight, it was definatly blowing smoke.
It wasn't TOO bad, I could still see where I was going Dick Dastardly... ;)

Funnily enough, I used to play a drinking game based around Whacky Races... Had to have the rules explained to me every time...

No, I still don't remember

That enging will die soon. I'm sure of it. The head and the ecu are making the power, the bottom end is standard. And it gets its ribs kicked in all over europe, with no mechanical sympathy, no frequent oil changes, and gets revved from cold to keep the thing ticking over   .

It'll either develop a deep dangerous bigend knock, or it'll spectacularly sh*t its self all over a track somewhere. (like that old car on top gear this week, bits everywhere) It's gonna die, dunno when, but it's gonna die.

Aye, if I had the dosh, I'd be doing the same...

Incidentally, about the crappy PG1 - okay the shift can be a bit obstructive (made better by fettling linkages) but have you heard of anyone bar Scrunty blowing them up regularly? I think they get slightly iffy press.... Plus, Quaife do an affordable (read: under ten grand) six speed option, even a sequential - which would rock 8)

its the ratio's that are sh*t, not the gearbox itself. i dont even mind the shift. but i'd love a quaife 6 speed sequential. supposedly they can be had for 3.5K

still reckon a honda is the way to go

i can afford it, just not sure if the tight scotsman in my head will actually let me pull out the switch card though

besides, BP is selling my site to INEOS, and as such, are paying out both the share schemes i was in with no tax and full bonuses. actually quite a good deal. just need to decide what to spend all the money on. :?
