Touring Pack/Sports Pack

Post by Blaque » Wed Nov 29, 2006 10:32 am

Not that technical but, doing some research.
I had a S2 03 04MY Elise S. It had leather seats and e/w (I know, SO ghay) but no A/C.

Was this a Sports pack a Touring Pack, or just standard?

What is included in the different packs?

Cheers

Well, I thought the Elise S only just came out recently?
Sports pack as I know it, is fitted to the Exige (harnesses, sports seats, twin oil cooler and a couple other things)

I am sure it was actually hard to spec a car as 'standard' and that they were all 'touring pack' unless they were 'Sports pack'. Touring pack seemed to include carpets, foot-rest, e/w, radio, roof headlining etc. I am also sure Graeme told me that a/c was an option in addition to the touring pack. Not sure if it was standard with the Sports Pack or an option there as well.

Just to confuse things the old sports pack was called performance pack and prior to that it was race tech...

The Elise S of that era (2003) was to replace the Sports Tourer pack. So the S is essentially the touring pack but it wasn't called that.

don't know about the old ones but in my new S the touring pack included:

Electric Windows
Noise insulation panelling
Front driving lights
Black soft-top with noise/thermal insulation
Black full carpet set
Leather interior (Black, Red, Biscuit or Cream):
Plain/perforated leather ProBax seats
Plain leather door panels
Perforated leather door inserts
Interior stowage net
Alpine CDE-9850Ri (CD-R/W) with iPod control

all for an extra £2k

Yup, I've got the touring pack on my 111R and it's pretty much the same as that list except it's a Blaupunkt stereo (and my leather is navy).

Stuart, you definitely don't have the insulated soft top? I thought that was standard on the touring pack? Was yours not a similar age of car as mine?

K series cars never had the touring pack, it was the Racetech or the Sports Tourer packs which were similar but not identical. The padded roofs came in on MY04 cars so an '03 one wouldn't have it.

The old Elise S was a standard 120bhp car with the ST pack as standard and a few additions like the leccy windows and padded roof.
