Please don't post that here.
We can't stop anyone from mailing it to each other but if you post it on the forum, then we could end up with hassle as it is a copyrighted manual.

Sorry.

I found it in an old thread on SELOC where it had been available since MAY!

OK if anyone wants the link to the specialists garages website that this is on, pm me!

SELOC's forums are closed to non-members though. The majority of SE can be read without signing in.

Not trying to be pains in the arses, just covering them!!!

Then that should be a good reason for making these forums visible to those with accounts only then.

I am sure that, as an example, the workshop manual would be more useful to members than being able to view the boards without signing in?

Not trying to be a dong about it just that I know I spent ages hunting about for it a while ago and its something that is pretty useful.

Yeah - fair point, but we talked about this a while back (soon after we opened up the forum) and came to a decision that only the meets section would be member-only.

SELOC has no problems getting members - but it was felt that to join up a new forum, a lot of people (me included) like to do a bit of lurking first, to see what they are getting. It was felt more important to make it a good option to join up, rather than being faced with a blank forum screen.

So it's swings and roundabouts. I know of a few times that people have had knuckles rapped by Lotus for that manual, but perhaps they are cooling off about it now. Who knows, but we just don't want to take chances.

Hope that explains the situation a bit 8)

Lotus may be a bit more relaxed and are pretty much trying to shut the door after the horse has bolted.
FYI you can download the us version of the elise manual for $25 from lotus usa legit

If you found it on seloc, they must've just missed that as any other thread I've seen there has had it removed very quickly. I got a link sent to me when I'd asked on a thread about it but the person had been moderated there.

If anyone does want it, it's pretty obvious who may be able to point them in the right direction ;) but sadly we can't have a direct link on the forum.
