And you thought MMC were bad.....

Post by Lazydonkey » Fri Dec 22, 2006 9:27 pm

Its the small things that matter....

Things like not scratching the new paintwork you've just applied to the rear clam.

Things like not snagging the seal when you change the oil filter and not bothering to check it isn't leaking.

Things like not putting the badge in the wrong place. No-one will notice eh?

Things like not forgetting to connect up the passenger seat belt before giving the car back to the customer.

Things like lining up the boot lid so it's flush with the bodywork.

Rest assured if i ran a dealership I'd check these *small* details as part of the work, or maybe even the "quality control test" that delayed me picking up the car.

But then clearly I don't run a dealership, unfortunately Ian Grieve Vauxhall in Sterling DO run a dealership and ARE responsible for all bodywork warranty repairs for Scotland.

I'm off to edit my already ranty letter of complaint

What a bunch of c*nts. Happy F*cking Christmas.

FFS! My car was meant to go there for a new front end, needless to say it wont be now! I will be using Blake’s car hospital instead, they claim to be one of only two VX220 specialists in the UK. Hope you get it sorted properly soon.

They were also the garage which never managed to arrange a VX test drive for Wendy and I before we got the elise. Didn't really matter how many times I phoned, nobody ever bothered to call back. Was bugging at the time.

Had my car in there today to get a gearbox mount replaced, for some reason they forgot to also carry out the recall work that I'd asked them to do, so another trip to the garage next week :?

I was chatting recently to a mate and he asked me why I didnt consider buying the VX220 (when buying the Elise) - my reply "I'd have to use Vaxhaul dealers then" Seems I was right. Sorry to hear your tale of bad service. But Id never buy a Ford, Vaxhaul or any other mass produced car because the dealers treat you like crap.

That's shocking Martin. Have they agreed to fix all these things? Hope you get it sorted.

Make sure your letter gets to the right person . . . Not just the service manager, but make sure it goes to the head of sales for that dealership, stating that this poor service would stop you buying a car from them again in the future.

I thought the VX220 didnt have any Vaxhaul badges on them? At least according to Jeremy Clarkson on TG?

I think his quote was something like "ill give anyone £100 if they can find the word vauxhall anywhere on it"

There are quite a few griffins all over it tho 8)

For any of those not familiar with VX220 badges it should be down about 2 inches and at a slightly different angel

That's sh*te - it looks like the bootlid is open.
And how hard is it to stick on the badge in the right place? Presumably this is the mechanic :kermit

whats the story with the 2nd photo?

it looks to me that there has been a big blue sticker put on to conceal something... :scratch is that right, or is it the photo?

i got to say, i dont know vx220s well at all, but that badge looks out of place no matter what car it is.

James, i don't really agree with you regarding the mass production = crap servicing, as this can happen anywhere - check out the topic subject!

i personally think all of the trades suffer these days - no one seems to take any pride in their work that they do at all anymore. it really gets on ma t1ts! you just cannae get the staff no'adays!
