You`ll have your work cut out if you want to go through every thread on here that doesnt meet your "no-nonsense" criteria and add the word "ramblings" to the title. Sorry Dad  !

The point in that is that I felt that it was getting in the way of Ali's post. If you think that's unreasonable, feel free to start posting in Ali's thread and talk about other cars that are cheaper. I've done that to you in the past by mistake, apologised for it and edited my posts. It's not like I deleted the thread, just moved it to it's own one!

FWIW, this has always happened on SE in that threads have changed title to suit the discussion. The phpbb format allows better control over that so I've made use of it.

agreed
never had good warranty work done on 2nd hand stuff unless it was cheap!
dicksons of perth mucked about with me diesil astra for months - the first car i ever had. needed 4 new injectors - they even agreed to replaceing 2 of them and putting coils in the head for others - but didnt do that!

history of car is the best thing to have!
id take ali's car off him if i was in the position to do so! Same as i would have with Derek's!

Correct but it's Arnot (the Scottish version :))
I presume we've been through the AHS discussion before?

Yip we have been through this topic before a wee while ago :)

I have posted in the yahoo group a couple of times after Phil mentioned it .... years ago.

Your Dad never taught me but did teach my brother and my sisters too. What model you driving Simon ? will look out for it.

Mine is a blue S2 111S. I don't bring it in to work that often, not insured for commuting but I'll have it now and again.

And why don't you're quotes seem to work? :?

BTW, I'm just across the road from you in the Grianan building. Maybe bump into you at the food van if you're ever out there for lunch
