They key with small dogs is to put your foot under them and lift, you'll get more range. If you kick them, they tense up and don't fly as well....

You should get a parrot. You could teach it to swear.
It could accompany the Hawk and shout things like "RUN! ya feckin eejit, this things a nutter!"

Where do you fly, Neil? Be fascinating to come watch sometime. I recently saw a guy flying a bird on the Stewarts Turf fields near us... didn't look like it was you though.
