Recommend a hairpin bend
Know the road well Kenny, but there is only one maybe two proper hairpin bends I can think of on that road. It did use to have a section with several hairpins in it, one was called "the Devils elbow" it was that bad

Not much in my area, but tut and I often do the coast road from fraserburgh to banff B9031. It has a few hairpin bends with brilliant bits between, good thing is that the first set are very tight even requiring first with the second lot quite fast above 50mph. Other than that I quite like the quering (I think) in the north of skye. It was shown in last months evo with an elise half way up. Cheers Craig.
Another decent road (not with any hairpins but a few decent turns) runs from comrie through to the A9 or vice versa past the Culty Bragan army training zone. Cant remember the road number but if anyone is interested I'll find out.
Its single track stuff and theres not much more than fields and a couple of sheep and occasionally the army will practice their shooting. But for most of the road you can see far enough ahead to take the racing line round the corners. Certainly one of my favs and passed a few elises there in the past.

The B822 from Lennoxtown to Fintry over the Campsie Hills is a nice stretch of road and includes fast and slower bends, straights, a chicane and at least one hairpin (1/2 mile from Fintry) which is better going in the Fintry to Lennoxtown direction. Also home to seagulls with excellent marksmanship after getting hit in the visor by a lump of sh*t

Thats a great wee stretch of road but have you been on it recently? Pot hole city! I broke a wheel on the CTR on that road. I make it at least 4 or 5 hairpins on the way out of Fintry.Skyenet wrote:The B822 from Lennoxtown to Fintry

Another good one is the road from Oban to Lochgilphead, quite a few hairpins, although can be busy in summer.
They have recently re-surfaced a lot of it. One of my mates lives in one o the cottages just before Fintry, and travels the road every day. It is scary what he can do on that road! He says it's like a race track nowkenny wrote:Thats a great wee stretch of road but have you been on it recently? Pot hole city! I broke a wheel on the CTR on that road. A good route from Glasgow west end:
Take B8049 out the back of Bearsden (Boclair Rd) to roundabout at Dobbies, then onto A807 to Bardowie, turn left in Bardowie onto Craigmaddie Rd, (great bit of twisty road) to end, and join A81 to Strathblane, then turn right to A891 to Lennoxtown, then onto B822 over the campsies to Fintry, follow onto B818, then A875 to Killearn, then B834 to join the A809 (Stockiemuir Rd), back into Bearsden. That's about 1 hours blast... ideal to blow the cob webs away. There are many extra wee loops you can add to the North of Fintry, towards Kippen, Port of Menteith & Dukes Pass
