I'm not a Chilis fan.

I find that Led Zeppelin does the trick nicely though, particularly Rock and Roll so I'll put that forward - it always seems to create a disease called 'leadfootitness' in me.

AC/DCs Back in Black works well with a V8 backbeat but Touch Too Much from Highway to Hell is better for the Elise.

Good shout! What about AC/DC and "if you want Blood, you got it" - cracking tune :D

On the Led Zep front, "the Wanderer" strikes me as a rocking in-car tune.

Mosh on!

I'd vote for Bill Withers over Chillis.

My top 3 driving tunes would be:
1. Blur 'Song 2'
2. Underworld 'Born Slippy'
3.Republica 'Ready to Go'

Maybe an official SE'rs ALBUM would work better than a single song. :D

I think a few of you have gone off track here. Were not talking about YOUR best driving track.

it think this would be far more suited

They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa

from: Dr. Demento's Delights
Warner Bros. 1975 BS 2855 0698

Remember when you ran away and I got on my knees and begged you not to
leave because I'd go berserk?? Well...
You left me anyhow and then the days got worse and worse and now you see
I've gone completely out of my mind.. And..
They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa
To the funny farm. Where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be
happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and they're
coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!!!!

You thought it was a joke and so you laughed, you laughed when I had said
that loosing you would make me flip my lid.. RIGHT???
I know you laughed, I heard you laugh, you laughed you laughed and
laughed and then you left, but now you know I'm utterly mad... And..

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa,
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa.
To the happy home. With trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket
weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and they're
coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!!

I cooked your food, I cleaned your house, and this is how you pay me back
for all my kind unselfish loving deeds.. Huh??
Well you just wait, they'll find you yet and when they do they'll put you
in the ASPCA, you mangy mutt!!! And...

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa.
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa.
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy
to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and they're coming
to take me away, ha-haaa!!!
To the happy home, with trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket
weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and they're
coming to take me away, ha-haa!!!
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time...

GregR wrote:Utter tosh. What you mean is that their current albums are not to your taste; that does not make them a crap band.

I was not a fan of By the Way, but I love their earlier, and more recent stuff. I think Stadium Arcadium is a great album.

So sayers of, "they used to be good, now they're crap." What period over the band's 20-odd year history was your favourite, or have you got 1 album only and base your views on radio play? If its the latter, your views are far too subjective to carry any weight.

All hail Blood Sugar S3x Magic as one of the greatest albums of all time - and a must-have on any car playlist :thumbsup

1 more vote for the Chillis. Alison & I went over to Dublin to see them a few years back, and it was a good day ruined only by The Pixies.
I have no signature.

at the risk of being flamed for it being a bit of a gay anthem -

Kenny Loggins - Playing with the boys?

If you listen to the lyrics rather than just make assumptions on the title it could be quite a fitting song for SE.

I'd say it was the right time
To walk away
When dreaming takes you nowhere
It's time to play
Bodies working overtime
Your money don't matter
The clock keeps ticking
When someone's on your mind

I'm moving in slow motion
Feels so good
It's a strange anticipation
Knock, knock, knocking on wood
Bodies working overtime
Man against man
And all that ever matters
Is baby who's ahead in the game
Funny but it's always the same

[Chorus]
Playing, playing with the boys
Playing, playing with the boys
After chasing sunsets
One of life's simple joys
Is playing with the boys

Said it was the wrong thing
For me to do
I said it's just a boys' game
Girls play too
My heart is working overtime
In this kind of game
Someone gets hurt
I'm afraid that someone is me
If you want to find me, I'll be
Playing with the boys

I don't want to be the moth around your fire
I don't want to be obsessed by your desire
I'm ready, I'm leaving
I've seen enough
I've got to go
You play too rough

Just a shame it's the song that's playing during the volleyball scene :puke

Danger Zone from the same soundtrack might be more appropriate
