Harness bars
Harness bars
Hey folks, was looking at getting a set of harnesses fitted to the liz & wondered if any of you fellow S2 owners had any advice & pics on a bar & harnesses. I have the chance of a bar on Seloc but it doesnt seem to have fixings for the top harnesses so I gather I would have to get some type of looped ones?
Any advice as always much appreciated!
Yup, wrap round harnesses.
Most in here will tell you that you can't have wrap round harnesses on normal seats (i.e. ones without holes on the seat next to your head) as they can slide and become quite dangerous!
- but I have heard of some packing them so they don't slide apart or overlapping them.
Just bought my harnesses (bolt in)and bar - hopefully fitting them at the weekend

Hardly tested mine to the limit, but happy they were there. I was able to swear at him the instant the impact occurred and wasn't picking my teeth out of the steering wheel!
Feeling fine today, I may have to take some painkillers for the psychological trauma though, I have been prescribed 20 oz measures to be taken as often as possible Friday & Saturday night!

I got Willans harnesses which are excellent though quite expensive . I have read its highly recommended if using wrap around belts you have slotted seats . Get belts with the quick adjusters for easy movement at junctions .
I was not sure what I needed so just bought from Yvo Tuk who answered all my questions and assisted when I was fitting them . Here is an instalation guide with pics , its linked from Elise parts.

Top tip is make a template from another car before you cut the rear trim panel . I didn't and did a poor job of the cutting .
In hindsight even though I like my harnesses I would have given a CG lock a try before splashing the cash .
