2.0 k series
2.0 k series
2.0 k why has nobody got one ??
they can be got for approx £3000 for b/end only but with forged rods pistons , l/weight f/wheel bespoke crank modded oil pump linners ect ect
must be as cheap as rebuilding a vhpd
and with a decent head big valve and with 280h cams fitted should make 228 bhp/169 ibft

Hi
£3000........From who?
I think you will find they cost a lot more than that
Rods.....£1000
Crank ....£1000
Pistons .....£600
Flywheel and cluch(that works).....£700
Block and liners......£800-£1000
After you have spent all that, you then need a trick head and cams,or there is no point ,dry sump would also help .
I would guess that in reality ,there would be little change £10000 by the time you were finished and it was built, with all the parts needed to install.
They are a bit OTT.

Stu what you get is a fully ballanced forged short engine but you send your 1.8 block away with the flywheel the oil pump is also modiflyied however you dont get t bods air box head cams ect but if you already have these items like i have then it makes very good senseStu160 wrote:Hi

a forged bottom end fully ballanced including pistons and rods would cost at least half of that then you get bespoke linners from sollid iron block so no pits or porus you get plasma rings as in porche gt3
you get a choise of crank depending on race or track race is with f/wheel 4 kg lighter
I wont post who does this engine it would cause a bun fight (just look at seloc )( yes I shall hopefully be getting one myself later this year ) and yes it is built and has so far over 10.000mls trouble free compation running behind it

and this is a differant stroke/bore than ptp judd ect so it does rev
note how the crank has knike edge webbs it cuts the oil temp by 10 deg by slicing through instead of beating the oil
Well, you may have answered your own question - nobody has one because nobody knows where to source a reliable one cost effectively.
I am confused by
Perhaps you can let us know when there are more details available. I don't think you should worry about SELOC-style bun fights - we don't really have those, though expect rigorous debate
Cheers,
Robin

Do you mean these liners are machined from a block of solid iron, or do you mean that there is some iron engine block out there that has solid liners that are suitable for use in the K-series?bespoke linners from sollid iron block

The block looks very familiar
Do you get a steel flywheel or a modified cast one, just with you saying you send your own one down.
Sounds good for the money though,do you know who makes the rods?
I would have thought a steel liner would have been better, but they are £400 a set so perhaps put the cost up to much. Not sure about machining out of solid,it would take a lot of heat cycles and then remachining to make sure that they remained round.
I do read the Seloc stuff .....what a load of rubbish, just goes round and round in circles, with the same people all the time.....pointless.
I hope it works out, good to see some one sticking with the K rather than going to Honda, they are just common as muck .

Bloody right, three years ago I was one of the first.
Now I hear some poser has TWO, not just used UK engines, but new JDM's.
He would not last long up here in the real world of Elises..........

I mean...........its bad enough to have one ,but 2??
More money than taste I say.
He must be a really crap driver, and thinks he can make it up with power, just like that giner, whats his name? .15748 of an inch or something
<VBG>
Next he will be trying to fit a bloody supercharger !!!

The liner quote is interesting as is the absence of steel crank and rods.
At that money I'm guessing that perhaps all 4 bores are machined from one solid and then there's no problem boring to 2000 and retaining the standard length rods and crank. A bored 2000 will be better than the stroked one as the head can be altered to flow more air.

half right lawrence there is a new crank but not stroked as much as a ptp or judd the forged rods / pistons are je from the statesLawrence wrote:The liner quote is interesting as is the absence of steel crank and rods.

i have spoke to someone involved to see if they dont mind the link being posted as he will bear quite a lot off flax as although its not his engine he could/maybe linked , its only fair to him
