East Fortune 4th March

Post by Rory » Tue Jan 10, 2006 11:57 am

For a very different challenge to Knockhill, this is really worth a go. I did an event here last May and was very impressed with the track. Very fast and flowing, and plenty wide enough to get the tail out (if that's your thing). Loads of run-off too. The flow of the circuit is reminiscent of Croft. The surface is super smooth tarmac, apart from one short section of straight (say 50m) where it is still old concrete runway.

The last event in September was cancelled due to lack of numbers booking up in advance, so here's a link to the site:-

Hope to see some of you there
Cheers,

Rory (Civic Type R driver  )

Welcome along Rory,

I though that Javelin had given up on car days after having to cancel the last one... I know Brian Jamieson had a go and loved it, so it might be worth looking into... Last one was (even though it was a full day) a tad expensive, though.

Seems to be reasonably priced this time (that was the problem last time IIRC).

£89 for full day (9am-5pm), open pit lane.

That *is* reasonable... Might very well go along to this, if the car's in one piece.... 8)

I could be tempted - is there nothing to crash into?

Any idea what the attendees are going to be like?

TBH i drive like a girl and the attraction of the dreadnought et al nights is that the driving is high quality and no-one acts like a twat........well a dangerous twat at least
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

As I recall, last time out at East Fortune the Radical spent more time spinning at the chicane than actually making progress round the track :D

(Hi Paul, I was the guy parked next to you in the pits in the grey Civic Type R. I'm sure it was your other driver that did all the spinning  )

Sounds good!

I see theres a noise limit of 102db. Does anyone know whether or not a yota with a stage (2  )will pass that?! :?

Stage what?

1 definately

2 possibly - although I think probably not...

There's a few noise meters floating about, if you need to make sure.

Should be OK but isn't your stage 2 about this or louder? :P

Oh FYI, 102db is the limit at Cadwell if I remember... Mine is categorically not 102db (although not Steve Brands loud) and never saw a noise meter all day.

I guess it's down to how rigidly they enforce the rules.
