Kelvin Hughes, co-founder of SE and occasional poster on SE Dinosaurs, bought a Clio 172 quite some years ago for his daily commute from Carluke to South Gyle, Edin. Basically said it turned out to be one of the most fun, practical and quick cars he'd ever owned, and he also had his Elise 135 Sport in the garage for weekends!

The stories he told us about how the Clio dealt with the A70 of a morning would make your hair curl.

Class.

Welcome along, Erik.

Hi Erik, recognise your name from another Edin based forum I used to look at when I was at Uni through there a couple of years ago......

Also fan of renaultsport clios, like elises / exiges everyone should drive on for a while - I have been very impressed with my bros williams / v6.

Welcome along anyhoo

Guessing you mean EC? Was very much involved with the running of that for a long time mate! Its still where I'm mostly found, although perhaps not in the same sort of capacity as a couple of years ago.

Can only agree with the kind words directed towards the lil Clios.... as I say, I've convinced myself i'll own another one at one point. The new 197 looks to be a proper weapon, with the cup "race ready" models being worthy of some drooling....

Its a strange feeling, love the Elise to bits, but even with 9-10k worth of elise sitting in the drive, i'm still high as a kite at the thought of getting the AX on the road.... yep, i'm a weirdo haha!!

Gee's, even on an Elise forum I cant hide my frenchness - sorry guys lol!!
