i had quite an eventful trip aswell. few moments

* Undertray came loose at 130 tuts and battered the ground in a rather loud fashion, cue brown trouser moment number 1.

* Aquaplaning after hitting standing water on the A1 on the way home. 45 degrees to the central reservation, back the other way at 45 degrees, skipped from lane 3 to 2, got it under control and slowed down to lorry speeds in lane 1. closest i have been to death for a long time, really shook me up. brown trouser moment number 2 and 3

* multiple oversteer moments on the A1 at 70 tuts after that. changing lanes, going over painted lines, etc etc. turns out my left rear has started to delaminate. pics to follow. that wouldnt have helped my aquaplaning incident brown trouser moment number 4,5,6,7,8,9 etc etc etc.

Other than the moments, i had a good trip. went the fun roads on the way down, which took ages. the beers with the LoT boys were good aswell. track was great fun, slippy in morning, dry by lunchtime, then wet again in afternoon.

For the first time ever, i bought the official photographers CD, purely based on the fact that they risked there life's to get a great shot  (photo to follow)

Snatched a gear and back end stepped out. I straightened out slide but ended up on grass close to lefthand barrier, I then hit a grass mound causing front end to catch some air and I ended up across the other side of the track.
that would be the left hander before the mountain?? I slid to the outside of that on my first session out, wasnt a lot of grip there. well caught, judging by the tyre marks

They were standing just a few meters off the track at the exit of the sharp left hander at the bottom of the steepish hill (Mansfield?) if someones brakes went there they would have been mown down by anyone overshooting the corner

Now had a chance to watch the Vids. Posted one just as the rain was starting at the end. I mistook one S reg Silver Elise for another S reg silver Elise, didn't realise till after.

The one in the vid is not the one I thought it was which was very quick when he passed me in the morning. :D

Afternoon Session

The morning session was good fun, my first session was about 50 mins as I was determined to learn the track. Used 7/8ths of a tank of petrol in that session alone.

On the way home I remembered I had a low boost setting and managed over 200 miles with still a quarter of a tank left. It was only about 120 miles to a tank on the way down.

This bend? I think this was early on when she was standing a wee bit further back.

Bit of overinflation contributing too maybe? Just the way the canvas is showing across the crown of the tyre...

looks like it Campbell, but i run them at very low pressures, and lower them again when hot.

These where Medium compound AO48's. I usually use Medium Hard compound, but ordered mediums this time as thats what i would have been racing on. Will go back to the MH, although i wouldnt have thought the compound would have made a difference. Maybe the softer compound needed different tyre pressures. :?: :?: :?:
