I have a little back pain after 20 mins or so now and again but only when driving the Jag or sitting at work.

It could have been a lot worse if i hadnt had the hard top on at the time.
On a good point... Son was in car behind having a ride in Kens Exige, so they as well as Neil G and David L saw it all.

As it was only a mile from home I always take it easy when using the road.

This new car hasnt had the rev light come on yet... and thats me had it 14 months... and I still crap it when going round corners.

:welcome Mark love the photos of the Esprit smashing car. :thumbsup

Del

I still have nighmares of that day I just could not believe what I witnessed that day. I was just so glad to see you in one piece when I opened the door of your car - quite amazing it really could have been a lot different.

It has taken me a while to get back up to speed :drive after my off and your roll in a short space of time but I have to admit I have now but with a healthy respect for slightly damp conditions and the cars power.

Take it easy mate. :thumbsup

Several flips in a field and the doors still open and close without any bother.......tells you a lot about the cars

Hey Mark,
you're Esprit looks cracking m8 - had a look last time I was down checking on Eleanor. Not sure if I can stump up to buy it form you but I can vouch for the work that's going into it. Wife has heart on an old Porka but I love yours. 8) it looks a million bucks!

Awesome car - make sure you get an Exige or sth with a Honda or blower as your Esprit will be blindingly quick straightline once Phoenix are finished with it and that'll be a hit that will be hard to give up.

You should also try it on track before giving it the heave ho. It really stands out, should have massive grip, stopping power and go like the proverbial. My old trusty only had a sickly 300bhp (ok a bit lighter) but passed most things on the day.

Remember to post some pics onto http://www.scottishcarclub.com. I'm sure Shug wont mind me in saying.

Hi Jon,

Phonix are not going to complete my car as they say they're too busy now with the new reg coming out.... Damn it!!!! so I need to take it away, probably this week and get the timing disc and crank sensor fitted elsewhere... Any recomendations? Ace performance have said they'd map it and he really seems to know his stuff, Recomended by Stu160 but they're also busy for the next 6 weeks or so... If a super fast Lotus was the plan I'd keep my Esprit but unfortunately the reason we're posssibly going to part company is of a financial nature so I'd not be able to afford a super tuned or modded elise/exige... Damn as, I'd love one, ao a cheap one is most likely... I do love my Esprit and if there's any way of keeping it i'll try as it's sentimental too but I may need to sell it when it's completed.... The Elise community in Scotland has a lot more going on than the Esprit one too which makes it apeal to me too..

How's your Esprit coming on???

Mark

That's a shame Mark :( , I believe 6 wks was what John quoted you. Be worth thinking it over - another firm means another bill and no gurantee they do it a) quickly and b) right. Phoenix now know your car and going forward having one firm no it inside out is no bad thing. I know they are massively busy but I'm sure sth can be done. I'm sure JL would love to complete the work having done so much. Howvere if it's a smaller job then make the switch - you'll need to use somewhere for the mapping and set-up anyway so bamybe it's a good time. I'm sure I can ask JL if they can flat bed th ecar to anywhere you want. Jst PM me if you run into any problems - re turbo set-up etc - post sth on scottishcarclub.com as far more modders and turbo guys there you can speak to.  no disrespect to the SE boys.

Eleanor? - slowly - lots of 'no one's done this before but it's a bit like' challenges.. but we forge ahead.. missing my Time Attack season as a result but got to look long-term/. spoke to my engine mech who's over in April to dyno the car. May set car up on 105 RON to save some cash. I can basically have as much power as I like but as he says - I'm green and if he gave me 650-850 hop motor I wouldn't keep it on the track. The G50-50 GT2 trans should make the car's traction very good so I jst need to focus on handling and myself. It's all in the blog - the ups and the downs.

Car looked stunning by the way - real exotic - colour choices, wheels, carbon and S350 wing jst look superb. I'm not looking to buy for another 18 mths so as to get over the initial build costs for Eleanor and first season but I think it's a car that jst sells itself. If yo do choose to sell I'd like to buy the carbon roof panel from you ad you could still sell with the glass back on... jst a thought.

I know what you mean about pheonix and I really like the guys there and their work is really good... One worry is Jon actually said it'd be ready for the 1st of dec last year then i said i needed it at the end of jan (booked hols, had to cancel) then middle of march for donnington and now i'm told 6 weeks before he can look at it so my faith is wearing thin and I really want it for the summer or at least an Elise to play with in the sun.. I'd love for them to finish it but time is pushing on.... Their work is awesome and maybe if i can't find somebody to do it sooner i'll just leave it there...... It's just the longer it's off the road the more money I'm spending and my budget is almost done already... ooooops... Can't wait to see your beast on track.... maybe even have a shakedown session on track together after they're both mapped...I should have about 380-400bhp, 350 would be a realistic happy medium but lots of weight in thick carpets, sound proofing and hi-fi will bog me down a bit...
