Hole above the rear number plate

Post by gorrie » Mon Feb 26, 2007 8:54 pm

OK.. so not technical as such... but, on an S2, what is that rectangle hole above the rear number plate for?... in between the number plate lights?

I can't work it out.

It's a drainage hole that originally had a tube leading to the boot lip but it's probably gone under warranty because it caused problems with paint bubbles.

Ah well.. the hole of no purpose then. Quite poorly finished off, a little bit raggy.

Sounds like most parts of any elise / exige (have a look in the engine bay of exige, lots of untrimmed / unfinished bits!)

It is a raggy little hole but a handy place to poke a bullet cam out of when on a run.

Lotus in unfinished cars shocker

Well it was finished but then they realized that was no good, they have a reputation to uphold, so instead of taking out the offending pipe and plugging the hole they thought:
feck it, just leave it off for now, it's Friday afternoon, we'll finish it properly after a pub lunch.

No, we have a button, but if I told you what it's for I'd have to kill you

Seriously, people get flamed over on the VX forums for daring to ask what the magic button does

There are 2 VX220s round here and neither of them will even acknowledge a wave or flash of the lights :protest

Talk about badge snobbery, miserable feckers

So what is it for then?
