Hotels / B&B near Wick - NLC

Post by Titanium S1 111S (gla) » Wed Feb 28, 2007 5:02 pm

Going to Wick tomorrow :(

Anybody know of a reasonable place to stay on a Thursday evening which is close enough to Wick to stop me having to get up at the crack of dawn on Friday morning. I need to be in Wick at 9.30.

Not very cost sensitive since I'm not paying.

The Albert Hotel, Wick - pretty basic but it's ok for one night!

Maybe too late with this reply, but.

Castle Arms Hotel, Mey. Just beside the Castle of Mey. shouldn't take long to get to Wick.
Food isn't exactly Gary Rhodes stuff, but was okay and breakfast was good. Good comfortable clean en-suite room though. £30.

I've stayed in a couple of Hotels in Thurso, neither of which I would recommend.
Green Subaru Impreza Turbo, a 'classic'.

Silver Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD, on SORN spec...

Black Disco 3, black van man spec...

Have booked into Mackay’s Hotel in Wick which looks just about OK on their website. Still means I can have a lie in on Friday Morning. 5 Hour drive from the Weeg I understand, still looks like a nice day.

Just had an email from a mate who has a house in wick:

This might be too later but tell him he should be staying in Mackays Hotel in Wick.

My dad is friends with the owner.

Thanks Dominic, spotted it on Scottish tourist board website. Got the last room and the other hotel said they had plenty of rooms. Suspect that says all that I need to know.
