Non-roof leaks?

Spend yesterday afternoon giving the car a proper clean inside; removed the seats, moped it out and cleaned all the alloy with isopropyl alcohol (IPA), was looking 8)

As it was completely dry throught, i put the shoer cape over it, which kept out tyhe rain overnight. However after a 45 mile run today, only a few splashes had cam in through the traditional weak-spots in the hood, but the floor, esp the passanger side was sodden again :roll: :(

On a drive last week without the rubber mats (it's getting new floors next week) i got splashed in the face going through a puddle :shock: The pax side has a pin hole in it, but that's not big enough to let in this amount of water.

Are there any other known pathways into the cabin - a bad seal between the floor and chassis rails?

I'm thourghly peeved with it just now. :(

I had a similar problem - I took the seats out and siliconed round the tub. Bit of a PITA to do but I've had no problems since - and there's been pretty heavy rain since, and a fair bit of standing water!

Check with a hose, directed at all the places you think water may come in! It was always the passenger footwell on mine too!

Alternative is keep a towel or two in the car!

I did the floor where the seats are with an RTV thats the same colour as the chassis bonding glue yesterday, but it's not made much, if any difference.

I should relly wait till i get the new floors in to see what its like then. Just want wet floors even less when they're carpeted.

S1s can suffer leaks from somewhere beneath windscreen I believe. Trickier to find perhaps, but get that hose out :-)
