I've just emailed Jim for some advice on what model to go for as I've now made my mind up I'm going to get a 2bular exhaust. However, would like a few opinions from you guys to help me decide.
I'm definitely going for the extended tailpipes rather than the ones that are flush with the diffuser. Don't know why, but I like to see my tailpipes! ooer missus!
I want some decent noise, but don't want it to be too loud when idling so that it annoys the neighbours and I don't want it to be too droney at motorway revs when going to work, etc. Basically just after a nice sound so that you can tell it's a sports car that's coming along the street, and not a hairdryer!
Any suggestions welcome!
Cheers,
D
P.S. Following on from all the recent MIL light chat . . . is this likely to cause any MIL problems?

Won't cause MIL problems but I know what will

If you heard mine on Sat, ask Jim for that. Mine also has extended tail pipes. Can't remember the exact spec.

Sod all the practical considerations - get whatever spec JJ has

Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.
....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Ive got a 7" zuast without the extended tailpipes, i believe ali had the same and perhaps even G with the extended ones. If you are planning on going down south for track days then this is the one to get iirc. cheers Ed

Just spoke to Jim. Very nice chap . . . excellent customer service!
He's recommending the 7x18". I chatted to him about the ones you guys have. Gareth, I think yours is 7x16" and Ed's is 7x22"? I'm definitely going with 7". Although JJ's sounds amazing

it's just a wee bit much for my delicate girly ears!

Gareth, I stupidly never got a good listen to yours on Saturday. How is it at motorway revs? Not too droney? Jim said going from the 7x18" to the 7x16" that you've got would make a bit of a difference, but I'm just wondering how much? Is it bearable on the motorway and for your neighbours in the morning?
Cheers,
D

I could hear Gareth when he was about 3/4 of a mile away from my house on Friday night so it's plenty loud enough

Not too droney but I think it's the one you should go for.

You boys are all pansies!
Was out a run with bro the other day, got to a village about 4 miles from the house and he called to say he could hear us overtaking cars

You should be able to hear a decent exhaust all the way over the Dukes Pass and back whilst standing in the car park at the start if you ask me..... just like Stu P's !!

Think I'll be going with Gareth's choice then . . . 7x16". Will call Jim tomorrow to order!
Gareth, did you have to make the hole in the diffuser any larger to cope with the extended tailpipes? Also, how far back do they go? Do they go beyond the end of the diffuser?
Cheers,
D

I think the diffuser was slightly bent outwards. Nothing excessive.
Pipes are flush with the end of the diffuser
Order a sportscat too

Looks like I might be going for a 2bular as well.
Are there any which sound similar to the stage 2 but trackday friendly?

7"x16" 2bular with extended tailpipes just ordered from Jim. Yay!

Again, he was very helpful and knowledgeable. He's going to get it delivered to Dan's in time for my service at the end of the month so it can be put on while my car's in for its service.
Can't wait for the noise!!!
