Posted most of the videos on photobucket now:
had to reduce the quality on them as they were taking ages to upload...

I tried opening the cap once when i broke down to see if that would help, but didnt seem to make a difference.

good shout mate - getting the S2 kit fitted before we go, so ride height should be kosher :thumbsup

when you say filing them down, what was the problem with your ride height? Badly adjusted suspension?

when you're on full lock at 50+ mph speeds, the tyres were rubbing against the front wheel arch lips.

Walshy said that some people have had their front clams cracked with the tread on the tyres catching this lip and ripping a big crack in the front clam.

I grinded this lip down from around 20mm down to 3/4mm - you cant notice it.

Obviously Greg will need to take a petrol operated angle grinder - then he'll only be taking 10 seconds per wheel arch ...

yeah, thats what i thought...

The hour was spent trying to find the airfield engineering dept, 20 minutes hand filing and swearing, negotiating with doug the engineer for his air tools, going back to the walshy support vehicle to get jack, wrench etc, back again, jacking, wheels off, grind with an air powered hand grinder, wheels back on, rush back to car limits area...

Just back up from Englandshire tonight.

The Walshy day was great. I can't believe what that man can do with a car. I didn't know my brakes could do that!!! 8)

Really enjoyed spinning in circles, wearing out the last mm of tread on my rears. I think the most educational part of the day for me personally was the stuff on slip angles when going round in circles. Realised I'm steering too much. Really enjoyed the course and was chuffed when Walshy said we were catching slides we wouldn't have caught at the start of the day. Great fun and would love to do another one! Feel as if I've finally driven the car the way it should be driven. Although I might have learned more if I'd already done some trackdays, I'm glad I did this before a trackday as it's given me more confidence in the car in an environment where I had room to make mistakes.
