T-shirt weather..........
T-shirt weather..........
Gave the car a good clean, swapped the steel disk from Donnie over to a MMC, 8/8ths sun, shorts and t-shirt, went out for a blast.
Passing the local pub and saw a yellow S1 111S outside. Immaculate. Parked alongside and went in, pretty busy, but he must have recognised the bare feet, introduced himself and his wife, they were having lunch, and they lived all of four miles away. He has had the car for a year and done 1,000 miles. But he did have the top off.
Explained the error of his ways to him, and he is now booking in for a KH experience day, but could not get him to come on a normal track day yet.
Still that is a start.
He then told me that he has two friends that live nearby, with a blue and a black, S1 and S2. So with Craig and Alan that is at least six Elises within a six mile radius of tt. They must have Stealth paint on...........
Left the pub for a run, a couple of miles down the road two Yammy R1's passed in the opposite direction. Did a quick U'ey and caught them up in the 30 zone. They then took the back roads from Mintlaw, so I tucked in behind them. They were both good riders, but not top notch, but no way that I could have stayed with them without the S/C. Tight bends no prob with an upgraded Elise, but any straight they would disappear.
Had a great run, we swapped the lead a few times, and I then took a more relaxed drive home.
I have had an Elise for eight years now, and steadily moved up the ladder with upgrades, as most of us do, but what a credit to the clockwork mouse that even when you abuse it with almost three times the original power output, it still handles it, feels safe, takes anything on, and leaves you with a massive grin as you step out of it.
It dont get much better, apart from doing it on a three week Stelvio, with trackdays thrown inbetween.

Says so much for the original design when 8 years on you are still having a riot in it.tut wrote: I have had an Elise for eight years now, and steadily moved up the ladder with upgrades, as most of us do, but what a credit to the clockwork mouse that even when you abuse it with almost three times the original power output, it still handles it, feels safe, takes anything on, and leaves you with a massive grin as you step out of it.
Luck must have smiled upon me as the 111r is back with me while its owner is away - just in time for the sun to come out - thanks Nics
