Big Red Flaps.....

Post by Victor Meldrew » Tue Apr 03, 2007 7:55 am

Planning to fit a pair of Sparco mud flaps on the back end. After a few comments from the fellow SE'rs about stone chips and following behind I think its only fair that we do something about it. So... look forward to seeing my big red flaps in the near future.

One question though, how far down should my flaps hangs.... to low and they will rub on the ground all the tim and to high they wont off much protection.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Too low to begin with then they will trim themselves to suit....

It will look horrifically chav in red though! Black would probably suit better!

I have found with my flaps that you have to be careful about what you back onto with your flaps. As if you get it wrong then the flaps can get caught and then your flaps get stretched

And you don't want big red stretchy flaps hanging out behind you even worse if they have stretch marks

So how far off the ground do your flaps hang then...?

Back to the flaps question... will try trimming them to fit tomorrow.

I thought about the thickness of a monoblock brick would be about right....

something to sit it on and keep them level when I trim it....
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Could not resist a comment on the flaps thread........

I have a very nice pair in black with the following mod

If you are a track whore remember to trim the left one shorter than the right so that you do not get friction burns on the left handers!!!!
