Think a bit of further investigation will be needed at the weekend.

Do any of our resident guru's fancy helping me with this one? Quite wary about looking at anything to do with the fuel tank  :D :D

Haha!

Back tired from Knockhill on what can only be described as a stunning evening! Didn't even mind the traffic jams, as i set off froomt he office for Fife.

Dropped by MMC, where Ali had managed to findme a towing eye! Legend! :D

Got to KH ahead of schedule, hooked up with Uncle Ron and joined Glenrothes car club. £35 for the night, plus 25 for another driver and the £7 joing fee :) They are holding another 3 track nights and I'll be back.

Shug turned up also, so we had three drivers signed up for the little beast!

Gordon gave the saftey briefing, and was in good form chatting about the ARDS and what it entails, and then we cranked up the Nitrons and headed for the track.

A fair mix of cars, from Rally Specials, Evo's, catering vans, a Cinqecinto, mk 11 escort, mr2, renault 19 etc.

Straight out of the box though the little Elise excelled. Within the first lap I'd skipped past about 6 cars and was really feeling very comfortable for a car I'd never driven in anger before.

Kept skipping past other cars, and was reminded just how quick these cars are compared to other road cars. Did a good 12-15 before getting a bit out of shape in to Macintyres, and loosing all front grip....a little excursion in to the kitty litter, but more running wide through the bend than anything exciting...nearly had it.

Still this underlined one issue....the Kumho's on the front have WAY less grip than the T1s's on the rear. Even lifting off mid-bend it was hard to provoke oversteer, but this didn't deter UNcle Ron, who did a Rossybee out of the hairpin, and we were left looking for a re-entry point on to the track that wouldn't beach us  UNcle Ron is still getting the subtly of the Elise, and although a practioner of the rough love technique, his MI16 205 days had scuppered him.

Still, 2 drivers and 2 excusrions from the black stuff. Shug was up next....

Flogging the k like it was a VVC, Shug was not amused at the lack of oversteer, but was impresed with the pace. He also managed to keep the clam intact this time

We each got out for another shot or 2, Shug deciding to pax with me to see how hard a time I was giving it, then announced, I think i'll need to give it some more...you were harder on it than me.....the poor thing!

:D

The fronts are gash, i don't want to overtyre it for the power it currently has, but if anyone has front S1's with some life in them and would like to donate them to a worthy (grateful at least) cause let me know.

A great evening and my little car came through without any issues....tremendous.

Forgotten how much i love track nights, and with the Alfa night tomorrow, i can't wait to get some more laps under my belt.

Look forward to seeing some other Elises on track tomorrow night :D

If you were Rag-It you would have sold it on now for a profit too....

Good stuff. Why not ask Wheelsaround to keep you a set bound to be people changing full sets when they don't need to.

Top fun :)

With colder tyres (thanks to a red flag) my second time out was much more fun than the first - some front end grip and she was amazing :D

As for the VVC chat, I was only revving her to about 6800 in second, gets into the powerband better for third ;) I'd be 400 rpm higher in the Shugmobile
