Just another thumbs up for FPC who I used again this year for a C service.

Got a lift to and from the train station in Glenrothes too, friendly guys and good customer service!

Came to just over £423.

That's good to hear. I know everybody raves about Dan, but driving all the way down to Newcastle from Aberdeen seems a bit far for a service!

I'll be getting the A service done, does this take long? i was thinking of just waiting there while the car gets done. Not that i don't trust them, just saves the hassle of having to go back. if it takes a while, then i get the gf to drive down with me

hey Simon - I had a C done which was 7 hours of labour  but last year I got an A done and I wandered off into the realms of Glenrothes for a few hours and picked it up later on.

They did my clutch repair, a service and both front wheel bearings. Service was fine.

Classy bloke!! :? :)

I usually just get a lift from them into that Shopping Ctr and wander aimlessly till they pick me up again. Always been impressed by Falkland.

Hi Jim,

Do you take your 111R to Falkland ?

Just wondering if they do a lot of toyota engines ?

They are not a lotus specialist are they ? (i think Simon mentioned they were looking into it).

I like the idea of using them as they are cheaper and closer than anyone else but would worry about impact on service history (i.e lack if FLSH).

What does everyone think ?

Had the car since Wednesday and i cannot believe the urge i have to go drive and drive some more .... seriously ... never felt like this before  ... :D .... will probably dissipate when the roads get wet.

Cheers
Scott

Scott, I contacted Falkland last summer when the 111R was due its first service and got a price from them. In the end I took it to MMC for the service and paid nearly twice as much (spot the dumb a$$) because I made the decision that I wanted a Dealer stamp in the book. Not a decision I will make again and will be going to Falkland with the car in summer when the next service is due.

Scott, I got mine in January... it doesn't dissipate with precipitation. Just hightens the senses a little more.

Not sure what the score would be with regards to warranty on yours. I'm sure Greame @ MMC mentioned to me that there are some things they do that others can't (I guessed it was maybe ECU checks, as I'm sure I read somewhere that Lotus keep a note of the max rpm/duration etc etc). Not sure if that invalidates a warranty claim or not.

Not a biggie for me, as I only got the 1 year Lotus Approved Used warranty.
I have no signature.

Don't bother with the £500 warranty, get the £60 AA one instead!

Like I said earlier, I don't really think the lack of FLSH makes much difference when coming to sell and even if it did, the money saved would offset the difference ;)

Warranties cannot be voided by servicing the car elsewhere and as yours has just had a service it will be out of warranty by the time it needs another anyway.

I don't think Falkland call themselves Lotus specialists as they do a lot of other makes too (scoobys etc.) but they have had Lotus training. If you want to know about them the best guy to speak to is Kevin at Falkland.

I was less impressed by falkland than most on here. they did a couple of dubious jobs on mine, and i was seriously put off by the price.

Theres more info if you want to search for it

I was at FPC for an A service yesterday. Dropped off at 8:30 and collected at 11:30. Total cost was £161 which included the new alternator belt which I snapped at the Walshy day a couple of weeks back (can't tell you the relief when I realised that was all it was!!). Pretty happy with the service and would have no qualms about going back again.

Apparently Murray complained about them being a lotus centre as they wouldnt put the labour rates up to match. That and to be a Bosch service centre they must be independant. They did say Lotus are referring some customers there for warranty work though.

Unfortunately their equipment was broken and they couldnt do the geo but they did confirm the front camber was off. Has anyone used them for this before or am I better to save myself a trip and go to sighthill?
