I have gone and booked a place for this newbie's track day session :D A guy from my work is coming too in his S2000.

just a quick question, will i need to check the car over before going i.e. tyre pressure, etc. Also, i take it i shoud go in with a full tank of fuel?

Cheers :thumbsup

Yes, Yes and Yes.

Also check everything else, oil, water, brake fluid etc.

Worth buying a tyre gauge to check your pressures as well as the heat will cause it to rise a bit and you will need to let some air out after a few laps. Most tend to run a few psi lower on track than the road.

Excellent,

I see on pistonheads that there are a few focus RS boys coming along too. Should be interesting with a good mix of vehicles.

Well guys.... i've done it, i have finally tracked my car at Knockhill albeit it was a beginners track day but still fun. :D

It was well organised and the instructor i had gave good advice. After going around the track in the instructors car and then following him around in my own car, it really put me at ease. i was really nervous at the start

All round excellant day and look forward to another one. Need to replace my rear tyres first though

Cheers

Simon

Hi folks,

Totally agree with Simon, a well organised day, and lots of fun!

I feel much more comfortable with the prospect of doing a SIDC or Hot Marques night now.

Be good to tap in to the wealth of experience from the track regulars from SE.

I must admit that my driving was quite hairy in a few places!

Bob.

Oh, and the S2000 did not let you down guys, it came off the track and landed in the gravel.

:)

Hi Simon,

I was in the red sports racer. My brother was in the black scoob.

Were you the blue s2 elise?

We were both totally shattered after it too..... all that nervous energy expended!!

Cheers Bob
