Top work fella, looking at those ahead of you you did very well. I would imagine they have a collective of ~5 times the amount of actual race experience.
Steve Williams used to service my car and had a lot of laurel wreaths from racing his MG.

He texted me to say that "he had been stitched up in the handicap race and started last, worked his way up to 17th". Not sure why he would have started last - he said it was complicated and would explain all on his return.
Cheers,
Robin

Evening all
Was good to see Kelvin along again, with the kids this time. He was telling to cheer on the yellow and blue sheds
I retired in race 1 with a split fuel filter. The Hurricane piping had frayed and worked it way to create a small hole in the fuel filter. Some nice flames out the back. Had to use the f/x and so did the marshalls. I did smell fuel for about 1/2 a lap, but carried on as its racing after all
Managed to get a spare filter off Randy (via Geary at Eliseparts) and Ben Pitch did a superb job in getting me back out. I finished the 2nd race in 14th, 6th in class

Becareful about what you take out they are very keen that peeps dont build cars to spec.
Fair point

Yes but when was the last time MOT man checked the heater actually got hot

What I am say is they wont let a car out if it does not have one or the other. It is one of the rules they are keen to inforce so it would be the LOTDC board that decides if its ok or not (not MOT man) and they advise you to get in contact before making any car improvements as they may tell you to undo them if they dont feel its in the spirit of the serise.

I would be surprised if he went that far anyway TBH, would make his car pretty hardcore even for 4mil!
The rest can go though. not sure how advised removing the undertray and wheel arch liners is though....

You need the undertray to help the aero dynamics.
Removing the wheel arch liners might actually be a false economy. If you remove them, the true wheel arches are then exposed and can be filled with rubber marbles that you pick up on the tyres. The volume that is exposed is quite high and I suspect you may well pick up enough rubber in the arches to weigh more than the liners you removed. Of course some rubber sticks to the liners, but wheel-to-liner clearance isn't that much, so most of it gets removed by the wheel as you corner and brake.
I don't see any reference to heated screens in the regulations, but on a practical note, both cars are driven rather than trailered to the races, so a heater may actually be required!
Cheers,
Robin

Weight saving from the undertrays would be minimal anyway and they will also protect the car from any off roading... Same for the liners, though the weight saving would be better. You did ask for any options though!
I would stick with stripping the inside of the car down (If he hasn't done that already!) The benefits of the rest will be small anyway and compromise the car for road use too much.
Pity the heater can't go as that is quite a heavy lump. How about an SVA compliant electric heater? Must be lighter that the great big thing currently fitted?
