Er, why set up a bot for that? What's the point? The sad, sick fcuker is dead and took a lot of innocents with him while trying to blame someone else. And as for showing the vid on TV, extreme bad taste

This brings back the debate as to whether we should have a more secure forum. On SE1 you had to request permission to join whilst here it doesnt matter. It sickens me that people go to this bother in the first place, that nutter has a perfectly normal family which now have to live with this kind of abuse. Again just my 2p.

Could we remove the WWW bit from application form?
Out of the members we have about 100 have a website but out of these about half have 0 posts
If someone actually wants a then could a administrator then add it for them.
I am sure we can come up with a few novel solutions to remove these bots and maybe we could add in a few admins as there seems to be a few sensible folk around
I mean we have Ed if he can do it anyone can.

I agree that we should increase security, but also appreciate the efforts involved in running the group, and evolving the forum. Whatever changes are made, should allow ease of use for moderators.Shug wrote:The image recognition plugin is being worked on by our tireless Dev. - Mr Ironside
I take it for granted that the forum is simply here, but forget that there are folk giving up their time to keep this going. Ta for the efforts

i think most forums have the jumbled up letter thingy which is now starting to be broken by clever programmersShug wrote:The image recognition plugin is being worked on by our tireless Dev. - Mr Ironside
Could we have something different?
eg we show a picture and ask a question like this

This animal is
1)a sheep
2)a goldfish
3) sexy
Answer 1 you get in
Answer 2 you get booted
Answer 3 "Hi shug welcome back"
Okay it is not a highly secure system but it is different to the vast majority of verification methods which should make it more secure

Or just have an 'anoraks test'; which model of elise is this (picci) S1 / S2? ..or: S2 2005 / S2 2006 ?, ... or VX220 / Tigra ? ... etc....
