I've got a Tassimo machine in the kitchen... all I need is some muffin mix and we are in business.

Yup.

Took ages to serve, machine wouldn't accept my card and the coffee wasn't that hot when I got it and I'm more of a Costa person (until Glasgow gets a revolution  ) still I got a freebe out of them because of the embarresment due to their daft machine not wanting to accept my card...... Half way through the dozy git behind the counter then blames by card because the magnetic strip has a small crack in it. I kindly explained that it's a chip & pin and has nothing to do with the strip.

Still - she only managed to overrun my 30min lunch break by 10mins!!!!

Must have been 'poor service Tuesday' then Mac... what with you at Startbucks, me at Wetherspoons... and I'm just back from Pizza Express after some really bazarre service. Was OK up until desserts.

I wanted to finish the meal off with a chocolate ice-cream, Machiatto (double espresso with foam on top), and a small Amaretto with ice. I nearly got a Mocha, but managed to stop her in time as she was writing it down... the Machiatto was more of a Latte, the Amaretto didn't arrive at all... and my wife got her Mocha plus a small glass of warm water ?? WTF ?? Didn't get the coffees with the desserts (15mins apart)... waited a further 20mins for the bill, which was actually someone elses bill... waited another 5mins for the correct bill.. which then needed amending coz the Amaretto was on there. Bill came to £73... I had decided that I wasn't happy with the wait so was contemplating not tipping (not usual for me)... I had only £20's in the wallet, handed over £80 and got zero change or a receipt.

Well, I had banked on a shag for my birthday but didn't bank on being the 'receiver' today.
