I'm back!

Post by graeme » Mon May 21, 2007 12:21 pm

OK, so I'm not a proper newbie, but I thought I'd post to mark my return to Eliseship after more than 2 long years...

After a restless 2 month wait, I am now the delighted keeper of a Scandal Green Sport 160, pretty much my favourite Elise since I first saw Stu's. It's in lovely condition and was well worth waiting for; a real credit to its previous keeper, Derek!

I've added 600 miles and a fair few splattered bugs to it so far and had forgotten just how magic a summer's day or a night-time blast with the roof off can be! Even the physically painfull freak shower of hail the size of peas (on the A68 at the windfarm yesterday) just made me laugh like a loon, in-between yelps!

Thanks to everyone for help. Stu for advice, Lawrence for putting me in touch with Derek, Simon for a lift, a place to crash and bottoming out the rear diffuser in the first hour. (I think the fins look better S-shaped anyway...) :) No thanks whatsoever to McApe for telling me not to buy it becuase it's just paying loads extra for the colour and the wheels. No sh*t, Sherlock! ;) Worth every hard-earned penny!

The car gets lots of attention, not all of it good. Had some lads ask if they could take pics, and a few kids waving from their Generic Family Transport. Sadly, also had some have-a-go tailgaters on the M1. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Anyway it's great to be back, even if I did refuse to go away in the first place...

See you all at TT07!
Graeme

Yes, my first wave in that car! Need to get back into the habit of flashing instead of waving. :)

Can I just say in my defense that I was just drying the roof off before stopping to put it in the boot for the journey home!

Thanks, it certainly is. I believe you checked the geo at your place? If so, loving you work! Was it standard factory S160 settings you used?
