Faulty fuse?

Post by ExigeKen » Mon May 21, 2007 8:55 pm

I have just got in from a run where my fan and window screen washer spray have stopped working in my S2 Exige. Does this mean I have a blown fuse? If so where are the fuses please? I guess that I should know this but don't

The owner's manual has all the fuse locations and functions - you can easily see whether it's a common fuse or not.

Cheers,

Ken, fan could be same fault I had. It'll be intermittent, you'll think it's working again and then it goes again. May need repair. http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... php?t=4143

Re: washers, mine have done that a few times. Try holding them on constantly for about 30 seconds and see if they come back on. It seems to work on mine, so I'm guessing it's maybe just a blockage or something?

BTW, if it's the fan fuse, I'm pretty sure it's in the pax footwell, so you'll need to adopt the "lotus position"

I would remove the washer bottle from the engine bay though for a looksee though Ken; mine had some floaters in it which were intermittently blocking the washer pump motor. Jetwashed the bottle and removed the motor and cleaned it.

Also had the same thing at the weekend on my Elise, except this time the motor is gubbed so perhaps thats happened as a result of using with floaters.

Think I'll take your advice JJ and check my washer bottle for floaters!

Ken, I'd try the fuse first. If it's not that, sounds like the fan unit is gone like mine was. I have fuses in the car, so if you want to try on Sunday, you can pinch one.
