Thanks again John Stewart for another good day.

The Atom was a laugh as always, with only 1 spin: "I wonder what will happen if I try and boot it even more at this point...? Oh bugger"

Glad to see all hope is not lost for you Elise chaps as I had to move over and let Tut past, and watch AndyG pull 25 metres on me through the corners.

A set of AO48's will be the next purchase I think. And if that doesn't do it a 300 Atom will need to be ordered.

Thanks to everone for being 'nice' trackday people, and apologies to Jamie and one other who asked for a ride round but never got it. I seemed to be a bit busy today for some reason. Back at the Tut Towers day in a couple of weeks,

Think the one other was me. Managed to keep missing you, not least because I did so many laps myself. First time I have seen an Atom up close and it looked fab. Definitely the funkiest, coolest car there today. Perhaps it was just as well I didn't get a pax, as I was so smitten just looking at the thing I was already starting to imagine having one in my garage.

A great day all round. Nice dry track for a change, loadsa grip, and excellent driving manners from everyone. Thanks to John for superb organisation as usual. Look forward to the next SIDC day.

Can only echo the comments above, great day and nice to meet a few more of you :D Nice gathering of Exiges too :thumbsup

Hope I didn't get in anyone's way, still trying to get used to the lack of a rear view out the Exige! The car was a lot of fun, the level of grip is just way beyond what the VX could ever do and the second cam helps make it a bit quicker on the straights too.

Kenny, sorry I never got round to paxing with you/giving you a ride in my car, would certainly appreciate that at some point in the future :)

I had a great time today, managed to kill off my 48s ready for the R888s that had arrived via SE post (cheers Brian, Mac and Dom :thumbsup).

Managed to get it sideways through the hairpin a few times then I noticed Dom and DDtB standing there so thought I'd keep on at it, awesome fun :D
Synchronised sliding with the RLC was amusing too!

Jamie
Next time mate, I seemed to have a constant queue of paxers.

Great day, lots loads of new faces.
Another well organised SIDC day, thanks to John once again, even the weather was good :D
Thought one or two cars were slow to move over (or not at all) and a few were moving over but keeping the throttle nailed the whole way before dangerously cutting across to block cars behind. More than once I had to perform an emergency stop to avoid running into the back of someone. Apart from that track etiquette was very good.

Some fun laps with various of the SE Loti, another great turnout I thought.

Only one 'moment' at Clarks when following the RLC, car seemed understeer really badly heading right for the exit cone. I think doing a Walshy day helped on this occasion, previously I think I might have panicked and tried to yank the car back into the track but this time just let the car run wide of the cone onto the grass/gravel and back onto the track without much drama
:D

Only one sour note from the day at the end. I must say I was a bit dissapointed with the attitude of a couple of guys from a service I have a lot of respect for. Being told "Who the fvck do you think you are?" along with various other abusive rants rather put a damper on things. They had decided before they even touched the car that the wheels nuts would not come off. One sheered wheel key later I am away with one highly illegal tyre to find a local garage.
Local place managed to remove all the wheel nuts first time without any fuss plus removed the sheered wheel key in the space of a couple of minutes. Makes me wonder why there had been such a song and dance about it 20 mins earlier, togther with the warnings of what another couple of SE'rs had witnessed it would appear I am not the only one less than impressed.

ps. cheers for the loan of the wheel key Alan :thumbsup

Great day on Saturday. Weather conditions were near perfect. Found my first session out after the warm up and bit slippy and the fronts locking under braking. Checked the tyres after only 8 laps and the pressures were 30+ (had them at 24 cold for the road). Quick deflation all round and the difference was huge.

Car was fantastic all day apart from scoffing a full tank of fuel. It was brimmed when I left Falkirk. Reset the trip after the warm up and did 97 miles before the light came on. Dear Knockhill please can we have a filling station or access to fuel on-site? Lack of fuel meant I missed the last half hour

Good to see a big turn out of SE’rs and to meet a few more peeps including the legend that is Tut and CraigieB & Lorna who only stay across the field from us! Lorna I’ve told the kid’s to be kind to you next year at Wallacestone PS

I asked Ian the KH instructor to come out for a few laps. A bit of professional tuition makes a huge difference. BrianJ was following and was I’m sure entertained by the new lines I was taking. Was taking Duffus much quicker and braked a bit late for the right hander, back went light and round we went, nose into gravel. Ian said don’t worry it’s fine just startup and reverse out  Confidence took a wee dent for a few laps.

Simon the HID’s look cool 8) mate, but it wasn’t dark  Were these the ones off SELOC? I need to add these to the list, Meenrod had them on his black exige as well.

Really enjoying the car now so the plan is a Walshy day end July/August/September. If anyone is booked or thinking about it count me in.

2bular exhaust should be here this week, See you all at TT2007

Poor show Kenny, presume this is the service that attends SIDC regularly? Nothing like a bit of customer service :D The tools to remove broken locking wheel nuts are readily available, thought they would have had one in stock.

Another great day :)

Thanks for this Clarkie - I'll probably need it

Also, thanks to Andy G and Stewart for the pax laps - as usual I came home with a great big grin :D Although I think I need longer legs to get over the fire extinguisher in Andy's car  :D

See you soon

I also thought my car seemed to be going very well yesterday, though it may just be that I was being a bit more aggressive with it and only got passed by the EVOs, Tut and the Atom :)

The HIDs are from Yvo at http://www.elise-shop.com and are great at night as well as looking cool at all other times :P I actually switched them on out of habit as I always drive the Elise with the lights on.

Great day, again much respect to John S for organising. (Love the discreet new motor btw John) Had a great session and chuffed it was dry right through. Spent some time getting to know the car better. Driving standards on the whole very good. Never came across any quick guys, I guess were either on track at different times or opposite ends of the circuit. Few red flags too which was good, even though I was out for an hour at one point, I just kept getting a clear track and thought, ach just one more!
Topped the day off by hanging back to watch the formula e superkarts practice. They are awesome.

it was a good day!

Thanks to Ed for bring spare RS14's which kept my day on track after killing the fronts in 4 weeks! Whoops!

Lorna, no thanks needed for the pax laps. Think you possibly got the leariest pax laps as the car was set up better by then, and it wasn't going sideways quite so easily allowing me to push harder. Was delighted to see that after 2 laps of full pace, when we got some clear track, you were grinning happily!

Tut hope you got back ok, and good to see you. That car eats straights!

Si, we had a good laugh diving through the traffic :D and Jamie cheers for entertaining me and George by spinning in front of us.

RLC survived another day, with chief mechanic Robin in fine fettle, and popping his RLC cherry!

Hats off to John though for all his effort sorting the day - great job.

Don't think i've driven so hard since the race at Oulton as i did when i was out on my own with the Atom in my mirrors....that was a good laugh and George you aren't making my wait any easier!

Wait till we have 2 at these track days :D

Love the RLC - very very happy with it - more work to be done this week

Yeah that was great fun. The cars seem pretty well matched though I think you have a slight edge up the straights that I reckon a c/r 'box on my car would sort out ;)

Enjoyed my self thoroughly - got sunburnt (at Knockhill!!)

I would like to add my thanks again to John for organising and to the other drivers for great behaviour on the track

On another subject i've just uploaded some pics here -

http://community.webshots.com/album/559212088DQlJxY

Everything i took was overexposed so these are the only one even close to being worth uploading (and they are overexposed).

Feel free to download it if it's your car (i don't know if you can).
If not i'll send them to you if you send me a PM with your e-mail address and the reg of the car that you want.
