Not as easy as it sounds.
Looking for a run around. Set my limit to £3500.
Needs to be newish and cheap to insure since I can't use my NCB and CCI don't insure normal cars, therefore I can't mirror my NCB.
Really just a run around that's got room for the kid, dog, golf clubs etc.
Under 50K miles with FSH. Been looking at:
Saxo VTR
Fiesta Zetec S
Corsa 1.2 SXi
Any ideas (sensible ones)

Fiesta or corsa would be my choices from the above list...plenty about too. Corsa will prob be cheaper to insure

I've got 2 cars insured with 2 different companies. One using my NCB and the other mirrors it.
You sure you can't do the same??

I've got three insurances with three different companies all mirror the NCB. I went with Flux for the Cat insurance as they were the only ones who could give me unlimited miles on the policy. Not to expensive at circa £250 either.

try a seat arosa or VW lupo, they are the same car, group 1 or 2 insurance, 1.4 16V gets over 45 mpg and the 1.7 or 1.5 turbo diesel gets over 85 mpg, cost me 145 fully comp for insurance with elephant and they mirrored the NCB from other car. Best bit is wit halloys etc you can hang the tail out round roundabouts etc and they are nippy. !!!

Ford Puma
Practical enough, but also fun to chuck about. Just don't consider the dubious image, unless you fancy yourself as Steve McQueen

From the cars you listed the corsa seems the odd one out, the other 2 are hot hatches, well if you can call the fiasco hot I would say more luke warm.
I'm biased and have always been a fan of the saxo VT*s having owned a VTR and VTS.
Neg : french, reliable'ish, plastic trim falls off it eventually !
Pos : Best bang per buck with handling and pace
insurance maybe an issue(group 7), otherwise get a focus
