Landy is the best, loads of pollution, no tax at all ;)

Should go down as the car gets older as disposing of an old one and buying a newly built car creates far more pollution than keeping an old one does!

I just got mine through: £180. Gawd help me when they figure out the Sport160 is named not for its power figure, but for the number of miles I get out of a tank...

Article in Autocar last week - Elise is actually greener than a Prius and is IIRC about the 5th greenest car currently in production !!!

Calculated on co2 taken to produce, mpg, emissions and how re-cyclable it is.

So that's :finger to all the greenies who bleat on about sports cars damaging the environment.

Cars prior to 1st March 2001 are based on engine size. That is <>1549cc. Cars after that date are on a sliding scale depending on C02 emissions.

Here for the cut off points http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ow ... G_10012524

And here to find out how much your car produces

http://www.smmt.co.uk/co2/co2search.cfm

Standard 1.8 Elise 96-04 is 168 g/kg BTW.
Which means that a car registered prior to 1st march 01 is £180 and after march 01 is £165. :scratch

Read the same article as j2 lot in Autocar and was quite surprised by the outcome.
