The guy that fixed CSK`s (now gareths dads) clam was only £250for a similar looking sort of bump. Not sure how tidy it was but looked OK on the outside. Might be worth DIY`ing it over winter as it will be cheaper (and affect your insurance less)?

Bad luck Alan - Ayrshire certainly seems to be cursed at the mo.

Re your insurance excess - pay for it yourself, don't get insurance involved - it will cost more in the long run.

know how you feel.

looks like you had more time to react then me. Its the worst feeling when you know what is about to happen 0.1 second before impact.

You right about the end of summer but its still shi7e.

Bad luck matey.

Sadly, if the crash structure is involved, it'll be a big repair, so to go against the advice of my peers, do involve the insurance.

You'll need the structure cut off and a new one bonded on (it can't be repaired unless it's the smallest of damage) Not cheap :(

If it was just a clam, you could get it done for less than your excess.

not got any advice but would just like to say i am glad that you are both ok!
i had an almost similar incident when i had just passed my driving test and was flying along a country road and met a tractor plus trailer coming the other way! eeek....chose the 'verge option' too but thankfully no ditch so only lost a hub cap...

anyway...well... nothing really, just make sure there is no hidden damage to the structure of the car!
best wishes, fraser.
