SIDC at KH, Saturday 15th September
Thoroughly enjoyed coming along today and good to meet a few people and put faces to profile names. Special mentions to:
Blaque: thanks very much for taking me and fellow newbie Steven ('sja') around and introducing us to a few people.
Steve – Weegie: my first Elise pax and like others who have posted here today, huge respect for your driving skills. I thought I was using about 70% of my cars ability but after being out with you I now think it is closer to 7%.
Simon: for loads of v. fast laps in the rain when many headed for the pits and the fun of leaving the hairpin sideways with great control to catch it every time.
Thanks also to Jamie and Kenny for pre-arranged pax’s but unfortunately a shortage of petrol / flat battery meant neither was possible. Andy D – thanks for the offer too but the time disappeared and I never managed to seek you out.
Cheers

Really enjoyed Knockhill yesterday, was great seeing all the cars and meeting other Lotus crazy people. Thanks Dezzy for introducing me to people and huge thanks to Steve for my pax laps - awesome. Had a big grin on my face for the rest of the day!
Am now trying to calculate if I can make the day I own a Lotus any sooner!

Thanks for the great end of our holiday to both John (for organising) and Tut for the numerous pax rides he offered to all the Cloggies!
I didn't have too much tracktime as there's some sort of clunk in the rear of the car which we were not able to identify. To prevent ending up in teard I called it a day just before noon. A bit of a shame as I really like that little track
Funny to hear the comments btw.. loads of people who I heard talking to eachother "is that a Dutch registration?" "mmm... they come from far these days

A 5.15am start for me since I now live 25 mins from Abz and OH MY GOD, it was freezing. Never been so cold.
I've always been scared of the 7 in the wet but I thought it was awesome. Way more grip than the Exige. 1st time since I changed to R888s and my new geo by Mark Hutcheson (I think he's done a awesome job. Rear seems a lot more planted. Found it difficult to get the rear out).
Had some great laps with Ross near the end. It was quite wet but we were pushing. On our last lap, I've got Ross on video coming round the hairpin very sideways on opposite lock...we shot up the straight, thru duffus but when it came to the chicane I took my first slide off. Caught it nicely and took off again. Unfort. the camera was playing up and kept jumping so I've missed the bit where I slid off but it flicks back on mid slide.
Great to see JJ in the S1 Exige. I've missed seeing them on track. Last time was Uldis....well Eds too but that doesn't count
I thought Jamies Elise looked amazing and the couple of time it was in front of me it looked very planted. No bodyroll.
Spent a lot of times with pax's but the car seemed to still pull well.
A few red flags but track behaviour I thought was very good...sometimes too good with cars slowing down for you to pass on corners....something I tried to avoid.
All in all, great day and one that gave me some confidence in the wet.
Is this the last SIDC of the year?
Only neg thing this weekend...screen and doors are back on...

it was an experience cheers scotty.
Got to laugh at the hole you put in the pax floor trying to find a brake pedal?. You did look a bit ill when we came back in.
Wish I had gone out as a pax in your car to give you a few pointers, maybe next time.
