I was speaking to him after I passed him  and he was saying that he was having trouble with his brakes. i.e. none.

Not clever staying out with no brakes.

Excellent matey, will force you into doing the next one then...just remember to pay John! Meant to say...what happened to you and Si at the Claypotts lights on the way home? I got stuck behind 1 sunday driver for 20 seconds and you guys were G O N E !
After having a session on the red wine the night before, I'd been drinking water all day to rehydrate myself and suddenly felt the urge to get home rather quickly once we reached Claypots

BTW, I've officially nominated you to hassle me into getting off my arse and doing track days from now on :D

Glad you all enjoyed the day, despite the freezing temperatures and the very slippery track to start with.

Funny how track days seem more fun when they start wet and get progressively drier during the day, as everyone is so used to sliding the car around the track :)

See you all next year :D

Thanks from Me & Mandy too!

We both had a blast!!

Thanks to Malcolm for taking my car out and demostrating what I've been getting told for the past year - the car's fine it's the driver!

Think I was starting to get the hang of it by the end of the session

Mac :D

edit: Where's all the photo's from yesterday - there seemed to be a camera at every corner!

I think Kenny *was* the fastest S2 Exige out there all day, though I also believe that Malcolm's car is knackered, so it's a qualified "kenny's was the fastest S2 Exige" ;-)

Certainly he was the only S2 Exige that passed me, and I passed one or two others, was out for about 2 hours of the day.

Thanks to John for another great day - the 4WD cars had the upper hand for the best part of the day, so spent a lot of time letting them past :-)

Cheers,
Robin

Thanks for a really enjoyable track day John. Not wet enough for my liking  !

It was good to meet up with everyone again and thanks to Ian for letting me have a shot of his Caterham. Makes me want to get mine back on the road again (although it is the wrong time of year)

Hope I didn't hold anyone up for too long. I was peddling my MR2 as fast as I could! It was really not bad in the corners but needed an extra 50bhp up the straights. Hmm..anyone got a nitrous kit?

Really enjoyed going into hooligan mode towards the end. Mandy - you bring out the worst in me :D

Any pics would be appreciated!

Jonathan

I've got a few pics, but not had time to do anything with them yet. Discovered yesterday that it's difficult to operate a camera when you are shivering with the cold, and trying to adjust the settings through thick gloves just doesn't work very well. I got home and had to delete about 80% of them :(

Well that’s me popped my trackday cherry!! Started off with the novice day in the morning, not really what I was expecting. I never realised it was just an open pit lane session. Really enjoyed it though. Should have done it sooner!!!

As above, thanks John for a great afternoon. I was the grey S2 moving chicane   . I did cut it short after loosing confidence in the car. Had a moment going into the hairpin, locked the brakes, and got a bit too close to the car in front. It felt like I was all over the place, managed to catch it before it spun, but stopped right on the apex. Stayed out for a couple more laps, but just didn't feel comfortable with the car. So came back in, had a wander, grabbed a coffee and tried again. But still wasn't happy so called it a day before I done something silly.

Hats off to John, fantastic day.
Started with the novice session in the morning and then the afternoon. Feel I learned more in the afternoon trying to follow the more experienced trackday drivers.

For the the whole afternoon had a bullet cam in the car, over 1 1/2 hours of footage. Once edited will post to utube. As most people passed me at some point most members cars should be there somewhere.

Thanks to John for a great day.

Spent the day driving my arse off through the corners just to let everyone by on the two straights, a non vvt, or whatever the f**k it's called, exige is a very frustrating car.......all show and no go

Thanks to Mac for the shotty in the Caterham it's got me thinking about the wisdom of selling the CSR.......
