Selling a car with slight damage ....

Just looking for some opinions guys I have not bought/sold many cars in my time . The idea of an "s" is very much in my mind day in day out , but I have a slight problem with my car . Someone drove into me a few months back and created a some small hairline cracks in the fiberglass, which dont appear to have got any bigger since the incident. I tryed to take some pictures but the cracks are so fine you cant make them out in the image which was taken with 5 megaP camera. I recon my car (55plate, 10k miles , tourpack, few extras) could fetch between 22-24k. How much you recon these cracks would de-value it ?

Should I repair it then sell ? or just sell?

hopefully , I intend to take the car to a dealer and trade it in for a low milage "s" , but I am rather worried the dealer will offer me 15k or something equally ridiculous , repair it and sell it for 24k !

Not planning this soon or anything , probably end of summer so plenty of time to think.

I scraped the underneath of my front clam about 2 weeks before I was planning on selling the car.

I got it fixed for £120 as it would easily have been a £500 off bargaining point for the buyer

I'd get it sorted before you sell, it will only make it easier.

In that case, it could be a £2-3k bargaining point, people will want to cover themselves if your selling privately and garages will want to shaft you any way possible.

If it's only hairline cracks you'd be surprised at what people can repair - is it really that bad?

Fixing spider cracks is tres expensive! It's the gel coat that's knackered.

My advice......

Leave it alone, get it on track, once you appreciate what it cann actually do and you can get the car near its limits, THEN fix it and buy a faster one!
