Looking forward to saturday. It should be fun and another new experience. I have never been on a sprint track before. And nice and close as i only have a short drive up from Dumfries

Lets just hope there is some fuel left in the country for me. Impreza onlys get 6mpg on track. Big stupid spoiler on the back should make it easy to push home though. And ill turn on the rear windscreen heater to keep my hands warm if it gets cold

Thanks to woody for organising the day

Philthy will be leaving from Kilmacolm which is about 2.5miles away so he can follow you as he`s useless at directions

Sweet, I'm on 0778 8163201.

I've got next to no reception in the gf's house though - should be good once outdoors.

Will bring the Tom Tom :thumbsup

Meet you 8.40 at the clydesdale bank where the castle looking building is, just before the de-restricted speed limit sign begins at the end of bridge of weir , heading towards glasgow.

Know where i mean?

andy

"While the Lotus Elise of David "TUT" Duncan may not be as immaculate as that of runner up Alistair Crozier, it ran away from the opposition on the driver's first appearance at Kames.

David Duncan 91.21
Alistair Crozier 95.23
Matt Gordon 95.97
Not his first appearance

Here is a photo of the happy pair. Great day except that they beat my joint best record I had managed with Tut in 2003 when I eventually managed to match his 96.00 time in my S2 (bog standard lardy 120bhp Sports tourer just as it came out of MMC  )

(mind you not sure if it was the same layout for timing comparison as I believe changes were made to Kames at some stage)

TV screen and BAT OUT OF HELL sounds like the signature of Iain Ferguson

Guilty as Charged  I proved that playing "BAT out of Hell" can take over a second of Kames timings (and 1sec of Knockhill timings) There is a cheap upgrade tip for all you trackday drivers

John

Glad to hear your son is getting on well with driving, maybe he could now give me some pax laps as I no longer have my Elise. Here is a shot that might bring back memories of watching the TV

and here is a link to other Kames photos including Tut and Lawrence.

I loved Kames and spent loads of time on it during my time in my Elise. One SIDC day I think I had a record of around 40 goes (120 laps), I just kept joining the back of the short queue.
You can have loads of fun, even in a bog standard car, as its more about cornering, braking and smooth car control. Will try and get down to spectate at some stage in the day.

Will try and look out the video clip I have of doing a 180 on track and still managing to keep the car on the tarmac

No problem, assuming I can get fuel we will be there just a little later than you guys plan to start ;-) . . . If I cannot get fuel I cannot get to the shops, I cannot get to work and most importantly I cannot get to Forrestburn . . . I'll know Friday night what things are looking like . . .
