As for how to organise everything, really depends upon what space we have and when people are arriving. I don't know if we have enough info on Tut's database to plan ahead, as I imagine some Lotuses may rock up on the day who either never heard of SE or indeed have simply not logged an entry in the yahoo DB. Could be like a monster chinese puzzle, and could become entirely logjammed!

Tut, can we get a firm idea of the space being allocated when we are there on Friday night? Who do I talk to?

My first thought was to do what the Elan Register did at Donnie, and park like colours together (!)...except if you were green or yellow in which case you alternated (!!!!!).

Overall, I think we just ensure some nice straight lines, possibly nose-in at 15-30 degrees for effect?

Oh and can everyone please try to wash their car first (tall order I know but it's a special occasion!)

Just had a long conversation with Stuart Gray going over the weekends details, and I now have a diagram of the layout for Sunday.

The timings are that he will be there from 0700, I need to be there by 0800, and those doing the track session need to be there from 0830. It will just be a quick five min briefing for us as we have all been on track before. The remainder of the cars should arrive from 0900 onwards as suits your schedule.

The following is very important. Stuart has empasized that this is not to be an all out track session that we are used to and will be doing on Friday. We can drive quickly, but we are representing Scottish Elises and putting a show on for the public, so there are NO chances to be taken, and if anybody goes off and causes a red flag other than a mechanical breakdown, they will be treated like a leper, and both myself and S_E names will be dirt. I will arrange for the first few laps to be run in our usual warm up style, then a green flag will indicate that overtaking is now allowed.

I have a .pdf of the KH layout for Sunday, but I can not paste it in as I would a jpg. Could somebody do this please if I e-mail it to them?

There is also going to be a Lotus unveiling on the Sunday, though my lips are sealed on this. I believe that it is going public on Monday.

You certainly can't emphasise enough the importance of flawless track behaviour in the "exhibition session". If anybody ever had any doubts as to the exposure of Scottish Elises' and general Lotus owners' "reputation", this is about as high profile as we've ever managed to-date

I really hope it all goes very well indeed, from Friday to Sunday, and that everyone taking part in any small way has a great time.

And well done to you Tut for taking on the organisation. Your OAP frame may be taking a bashing but the grey matter is still working well, I see

Tut, for the Friday track night, Erica may not have the mx5 registered on the database. The car she will have will be identical though, just a different reg plate (she's bought another Mark 1 BRG Mx5... and hopefully the existing one will be sold by tomorrow)

Does she need to have an MOT with her to get on track? (it's been sent to the DVLA so the seller can get his private plate off the car )
