I agree with the sentiment in this thread and have to remind myself that there are newbie's etc on track who are equally entitled the the time/space on track. I think the yellow square with a black cross (novice sticker) is and excellent idea and gives quick and easy visual detection of a novice and so easier to give them more room. :thumbsup

You should try braking and manhandling the massive huge evo's when there's wee lightweights right in front of you.

glad u were on track dezzy. one of the best places to be :D
i cant be bothered reading the 7 pages here... but thought i would comment

personally, i had to nearly stop at the hairpin 2 or 3 times in the 10 or so trackdays i did.
mostly the busy ones where three were 4+ cars behind.
i eventually learnt to let folks past at the start of the straight and lift off.
i had no desire to race peeps, so if possible i would give them lotta distance and then try catchup via braking and stuff.
a snake generally went slower than me - the faster cars got to the front of the snake.
it was fun doing that... letting a snake past then using them as some fun up ahead.

last track day i did b4 my car died was great fun. was running with ali c on track for a while.
ahhhh happy days!

The issue with adopting the novice cross is when you come across a car that acutally has one for the correct reason.

My 7 has one attached and when funds allow me to race then it's required until I get enough signatures to upgrade.

If we all started to sport them - how would you know who was using it for trackday purposes and who was using it for MSA purposes?

i dont know how i missed this, but i just read it and it made me laugh. I hope it was said tongue in cheek Tut, as your the biggest barger on the straights at KH  . If theres an elise seized gap, theres a yellow S1 coming through regardless

I keep saying it but as a first trackday experience Kames would be better than KH IMHO. Ok it looks narrower, but there is no-one else on track with you and it costs peanuts. Jon, Hambo and i are at Kames on sunday if anyone wants to come down and have a look - or there is woody's day a week on saturday ?

Or if you are feeling flush, for £100 you can get 25 laps with an instructor at KH - who will show you what the car can do and what lines you should be on. That would make your first track session a lot less scary.................i know cos i did it
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Hmmm MY GF is always on at me for a shot, that sounds better than a SIDC day :)

Dont like the split bikes/cars session however..

Karen

I've been on one of these ladies only nights before and it was quite good to be honest. Not sure I will drive but will def come up for it and come out for some pax laps with you guys if you want.

Heather - any time just jump in, my pax seat is normally empty nowadays with the exception of Ryannnnnn. :D

Good to see some more female drivers out on track.

Not sure how it works Morven, but will phone Knockhill on Saturday morning and post back up with the details. I'll ask how many spaces are left also so that we can perhaps get as many of us SE women on track!
