Ignore the blue line
Looking at the power curve you can see that it is limited by RPM, and if you want 260BHP, you need to spend the money on the bottom end. It breaths well as it has the biggest valves they could squeeze in - which gives it a wonderfully flat torque curve
The down side is that its a little heavier than a K and has a galleried oil return (to reduce oil drag) and this can give it a high oil running capacity on the track (high G). This needs careful thought if you want to dry sump it as tanks need to be big.
From a driving point of view its quite a benign engine that pulls hard in any gear and will hit the rev limited without warning -just very little character. It can be mechanically noisy (chain driven cams) and doesn't seem as refined at a K series.
But I wouldn't swap, as in its standard form, you can get them new for £1200 - and that makes track driving a little more relaxing.
