Have to say, I prefer the spoiler from a functionality POV - the mid-mounted one was always hilariously wobbly when you followed someone at speed. Just imagining what sort of downfarce that produced. Seeing as they can't make it from some super-stiff composite, suspending it at the ends is by far the better engineering solution (as long as it doesn't now bend in the middle)

That looks great, bound to be a winner. The designers got that concept right, that's for sure

Really love the new look Exige, especially in that colour. Not enough to shell out 40k for one, but maybe used in a year or two....Always thought the old style spoiler was a bit embarrassing - way too wobbly to be good for anything. On the other hand boot access looks like it will be near impossible now :?

Do all Exiges now come with the full length roof scoop or is that just with the PP? Or have all the option packs changed again?

Funny you should post that but doe the bolts on the 2010 cars spoiler suggest it is adjustable ?

I'd think not, as there's only one bolt hole. Probably the best way to put it together - and it adds a 'motorsporty' touch.

Mark - I don't see many S1 Exige owners having too much of an issue about boot access - sure it'll be fine. What I really wonder is if the spoiler is bolted through the clam to the chassis, or if it'll just be a recipe for stress related star cracks in the rear clam....

So the front vents are just cosmetic tat and the rear wing is that way to make boot access better. It's a 2010 spec car designed and finalized in 2009. So it's a 2009 spec car then. Don't fall for the rebranding bull.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Nope - the left/right front vents have been redesigned with the horizontal bar across them to stabilise the airflow into the twin oil coolers at the front of the car. The large central vent at the front has been made larger to increase airflow into the radiator to assist cooling.

The splitter and spoiler redesign was also carried out for genuine aerodynamic reasons and not just for styling. Not sure of the scientific details, but I'm sure the fact that the front splitter now carries on up the side of the clam a bit increases its effectiveness.

All the details on the Lotus website.

Was in on tuesday as well to pick my car up and had a look at the new exige. Really liked it, looked alot better in the flesh. Also really liked the Exige Sprint that was in the showroom sold.

New rear wing looks good, I always thought the rear wing on the s2 exige looked a bit odd. Front end is nice too, though I can't decide between the existing model and this for which looks better.
Exhaust looks crap.

The S1 Exige looks better imo, though of the whole bunch I prefer the standard Elise s1 (not the one with the extra wing on the back either). With the original 5 spoke wheels and in any colour except silver...

Popped into have a look at this yesterday when I was arranging to have poor Lottie dropped off by the recovery people having refused to start for me :(
At first I thought the new spoiler was a bit on the large side, but the more I looked it the more I think I really like it and the new front end looks really nice, greame was saying to me that with the amount of cooling that there now is on the car hes wondeering what they may have up there sleeves in the future.
Also managed a wee look at his new evora demonstrator in white, have to say I liked it when I saw the orange one in the garage but in the white it really is awesome and getting a a squint at it went some way to cheering me up after a day spent worrying about my silly wee car.

 Funny the first thing I thought when I saw it yesterday was when is Dezzy going to start talking about a new car again.

Suspect there is going to be a division between S1 Exige lovers and S2. I still think the original was the best looking of the whole range.

yup, i agree with u there tut.
remember it on top gear.. tiff driving it down some sea front street (i think). i was thinking... wow, its a race car on the road... how much fun would it be to be driving that?!
the joins etc shouted "hand made" and that made u think... special.
quality no doubt better now, and thats a great thing for someone totally handless at cars like me...
but... the original still is the only one to have that natural instinic to the extreme, for me (but give me a s2 and ill be mucho happy!)
