After looking at them at the Bike show I wasn't impressed by the lack of armour either which is why I'm sticking to my textiles at the moment, with plans for leather trousers when I pass.

As I said I still wouldn't discount a pair of the Kevlar jeans for nicking about in. I don't think I would put the leathers on just to take the bike round to Dave's or down to my sister (5mins down the road) but having looked at them I wouldn't use them as I originally intended which was for full on bike runs etc.

as i said i use mine for exactly what your saying mac,

for small short trips where leathers or textiles are a hastle and will take roughly the same length of time putting them on/taking them off as the trip would be.

i use mine when i'm tinkering on the bike and then take it a wee spin to see how it feels/ if it works and just keep them on the rest of the day.

I own leathers, textiles and draggin jeans. All have their uses and wouldn't have Just one out of the 3.

Thought I'd dig up this old thread :D 2 weeks ago I sold my 2009 Sherco and picked up a 2 month old 2015 model. There has been many changes the main ones being; Engine has an extra 22cc and the optional performance carb as standard; New frame is much narrower at the front giving much more lock to lock steering; air filter box now where the petrol tank would go ,putting it higher up with less chance of water ingress, this also gives the filter a much better flow of air making it sound like it has an induction kit :D filter now takes seconds to swap out a clean/oiled one with just a 1/4 turn d-clip. petrol tank now mirrors the exhaust silencer putting the weight lower and rear which 'should' help with balance and traction. Only had an hour or two pottering about on it so far but it is much smoother/less snappy 'off the bottom' of the revs. Scared myself a couple of times already on the bigger stuff, made the mistake of giving it the same amount of throttle as the last bike and totally overshot a small gap half way up a steep banking  I have since fitted a slow action throttle tube which my last one had so that should tame it a tad. Hopefully get its first outing at Crieff Hydro on Sunday 8)

Cool little toy you've got there.
Bet it's fun to ride.

Here's my old dirt bike. Don't have one at the moment, quite miss it.

Not sure I ever posted this.

Forgive the poxy HDR filter - it was a dull day and made the shot work better.
