Might need to remove the

Very sorry to read this Neil ,yet again our countrys judicial system seems to favour the easy catch of a normally law abiding tax payer....years ban seems very harsh :(

Sorry Neil, join the club :blackeye . I was banned for 12 months, doing 109mph in 60 (was in newspapers and local TV too :damnfunny ). Fined £450 and had to take the extended test.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Bad luck Neil :( Hope you enjoy the kayaking though. :thumbsup

I took an unplanned three month sabbatical from driving until a week or so ago; it's not as bad as I'd have feared, and you've got Mags to keep the 160 ticking, lumpily, over.

When I was serving in Germany back in 1987 I got caught doing 140km/h in a 60, not in a built up area or anything but the end of the 61 autobahn.Crafty German plod were hiding. I was already slowing when they clocked me  Because I was driving a British Forces Germany registered car (black plates, white text) they didn't bother taking me to court or trying to ban me so hit me with a fine the equivalent of £300. Had my details splashed over pretty much every inch of wall space in the Barracks as a warning to others. Lesson learnt.
Bad luck on the ban but chin-up.

I'm enjoying a rather expencive nice bottle of red wine right now, I still have two legs, two arms, a head with some brain cells left ( not many), with means to get by...I will see my grandaughter on Saterday, life goes on ...as I explained to someone by PM the other night, compaired to what I've been through as a youngster this untimly eposode is nothing compaired to the past....

I'm going to relax, get everyone else to help for a change instead of me doing all the work..., the offers from all everywhere have been briliant and I wont be stuck :thumbsup frends, helpers and SE will be involved if you want some shooting you can to do the running around etc. After years of day to day driving which I'm not that fussed for anyway I will muddle through.. The bit I will miss is the proper stuff that reminded why I began driving aged 12 in the first place. :thumbsup

Anyway I'm away for a few days of R&R so stay safe and don't go as fast as I did and if you do remember to look hard in the mirror to see what's not right behind you but well behind you or you just might by default join the 109 club ....... :blackeye

Neil,

Tough break. Will watch out for you on Police! Camera! Action! in due course.

£300 is a lot of money when things have been tight.

12 months out of the saddle is going to feel really weird, at least at first. You may need to enforce a ban on Mags as well, though, or at least speed limit all your vehicles to 60. Can you imagine if she got herself done, you'd both have to ride around on a bloody tandem for goodness' sake. And I know who'd be doing the pedalling.

But re-sitting your test...well, you have a year to swot up for it but I don't know how you are going to get any practice in (legally) or what crackpot instructor would take you on :damnfunny

Enjoy Bute.
